Our Weekend in St. George - February 18, 2002

Monday - February 18th
Roger had an interview today and he has another one tomorrow to get hired on full time at Autoliv.  If he gets hired on, he will work three 12 hour days a week.  Actually, he will be working nights.  That will be hard on us, but it will be nice for him to have 4 days off of work each week.
We went to St. George this last weekend.  We had a lot of fun!  We went hiking at Red Cliffs.  We hiked through the water and it was so cold, but we had so much fun.
Missy's birthday is on the 21st, but we celebrated it while we were there with everybody.  It was a fun little party.  My cute little nieces and nephews couldn't get enough of the camera time.  This is the video I took of Missy's Birthday party.  She is turning 18.

What We've Been Up To - February 11, 2002

Monday - February 11th
Well, it's been a little while since my last post.  I have a lot to tell you about  On February 2nd, Roger and I moved to Brigham City.  We took a leap of faith and moved.  We had a lot of help moving our stuff, so that wasn't bad.
Here are some pictures and the video I took.

So far things are going great for us.  The Griffins (our landlords) are really nice.  They take good care of us.  Things are going good at Roger's work.  He talked to one of the head guys and told him our situation (how we moved, I'm pregnant, no insurance, and he needs to be hired on permanently).  The guy told him about a position that just opened up.  Something to do with handling chemicals (it's not a job that very many people want).  If Roger gets this job, he will get a $2.00 raise, they will put me on his insurance, and we will be able to afford living!  Roger will find out this week if he gets the job or not.  Roger things that he will get it.  When he talks to the boss about it, he says it sounds like he is implying that Roger will get the job.
Last Tuesday (on the 6th) I went to the doctor for my first ultra sound.  My friends Jenny Springman and Regan Cowley came to hang out, so they came with me to my appointment.  It was so exciting to see the baby.  For an ultra sound to work you have to have a full bladder while they do it.  I was so worried that my bladder wasn't going to be full enough, so I drank a ton of water.  I ended up drinking too much water.  I could hardly hold it.  I had to pee so bad my legs were shaking.  It was the most uncomfortable thing in my life.  I was so sure I was going to wet myself.  Jenny and Regan kept making me laugh on the way to the hospital which made it even harder.  They kept making jokes about what a small town Brigham City is.  They pointed out that there are only 4 stop lights.  I agree with them, Brigham City is pretty small.  Anyway.... so....luckily I did not wet myself.  When the nurse realized that I was only 8 weeks along, she decided to do the ultra sound another way.  So, she let me go a head and use the bathroom.  I was so relieved.  I'm glad that I've experienced what that is like, so I will be able to do it right the next time. I know now, not to fill my bladder too full.
On Wednesday the 7th, Roger and I went with Caroline, Scott, and their kids to go and see the Olympic torch.  They ran with it through Brigham City on 200 e. and Main st. then spent the night at  the City Center (or something like that. I don't know the name of the building).  It was really cold outside and I was not feeling well, so we left early.  We didn't get to see the big ceremony that they did.  That was a bummer.
On Friday the 9th, we watched the Olympics opening ceremony on TV.  It's pretty exciting having the Olympics here in Utah.  Earlier on Friday, Roger;s mom and our niece, Missy, went downtown.  They said that President Bush drove by in a limo and he was waving to everybody.  They said that he waved at them.  They were very excited about that.
Anyway, I can't think of what else I missed and didn't write about.  It's Monday morning.  roger just left to go to work.  I have a little stomach ache, so I'm laying in bed.  I've been a lot more sick lately from the pregnancy.  I wake up every morning feeling sick, then I'm sick again at 3:00pm everyday (never fails).  I'm just starting my third month of pregnancy.  They say the sickness goes away after the third month.  If that's true, the first part of March is when I should stop being so sick and tired all the time.  I will also have another ultra sound.  The baby should be developed enough that we can tell if we are having a boy or a girl.  We are very excited to find out (although, we know from our experience in the temple, when we first learned about this pregnancy, that we are having a girl).  I'm so happy to get to be a mom!
Yesterday, we attended our new ward for the first time.  They were very friendly and we felt welcomed.  Our landlord asked us to say the prayers in sacrament meeting.  We had been asked to say them in our old ward two weeks ago and I was too scared, so I said "no".  I promised roger that I would do it the next time they ask us.  I just didn't think that we would be asked again so soon.  So, yesterday, I said the prayer in sacrament meeting for the first time in my life.  I was extremely nervous.  I was afraid that I would get up there and my mind would go blank.  Thankfully, that did not happen.  I went up there and prayed with no trouble at all.  It felt good.  I'm glad they asked us.
