Easter 2013

Saturday - March 30, 2013
We decorated our Easter eggs on the night before Easter.  We had a lot of fun trying new ideas that I found on pinterest.  We used edible Markers to draw on the eggs and we colored them with Kool-Aid.   Missy made a snoopy egg.
Roger doesn't really like to decorate eggs.  He came in and watched what we were doing for a little while, then went in the living room to relax.  Parker decorated a few eggs, then went to join his dad.  They don't love the girly crafty things.

 Sunday - March 31, 2013
This is Easter morning.  Here we are waiting to go downstairs and find our Easter baskets and eggs that the Easter Bunny hid around the house.
The kids were so excited!  The Easter Bunny hid their baskets really well this year.  It took them a lot longer to find them.  He hid Parker's basket under the sink, Brinley's in the toy closet, and Alissa's was in the washing machine.
Roger's mom came to visit in the afternoon.  While we were all visiting in the living room, Parker went outside to play.  He ran in and grabbed a handful of his toy cars then hurried back out.  Roger went out to check on him and we were really impressed with Parker's creation.  He made him self a dirt road for his cars to drive on.  Alissa said that she helped him start building it.

What We Did During Missy's Visit - March 27, 2013

On Wednesday - March 27th we made pretzels.  The kids had a lot of fun.  If I would have thought about it, I would have taken some pictures of the pretzels they made.  They had a lot of fun shaping the pretzels.  I don't like pretzels and I was busy doing something else, so the pretzel making ended up being a Missy and the kids project.
While Missy was here we decided that we would go bigfoot hunting.  The problem we had was that our car couldn't hold all of us to take us to a good bigfoot hunting location.  So instead, we watched you tube videos of bigfoot sightings and we read stories of bigfoot sightings, then we went for a walk, which was not nearly as exciting as bigfoot hunting would have been.  We read about some bigfoot sightings that happened here in Tremonton back in the 80's, but it turned out that they were a hoax.
On Thursday, we all wore our hair in braids and called ourselves the Brady bunch - We're dorks!
We went to the video store her in town and rented some movies.  after the kids were in bed, Missy and I stayed up and watched Couples Retreat.  It was funny.  During the movie Missy felt a tickle on her arm, when she looked down, there was a spider on her!  She flicked it off really fast and freaked out a little, which made me panic.  We turned on the light and decided to vacuum.  We found the spider and vacuumed it up.  Good times!
On one of the nights that Missy was here, we watched the movie Signs.  I do not handle suspenseful movies very well.  I get way to scared.  Missy and Roger thought it was funny.

Roger gave me the best Surprise! and Fear Factor - March 25 - 26, 2013

Monday - March 25, 2013
Missy offered to watch the kids so Roger and I could go on a date.  I love it when Roger and I get to go on a date!  It doesn't happen often enough for me.
Parker had a dentist appointment in the morning, so I took Parker to his appointment.  He did well and got to pick out 2 rewards when he was done.  He got two mustaches.  His mouth is still a little numb.  That is why his smile is a little funny.

After we got home from the appointment, I relaxed for a little while then got ready for my date with Roger!  Roger told me that we were going to go to dinner in Logan then go to Crystal Hot Springs, so I needed to pack a bag with a change of clothes.  I told him that I would just change back into my clothes I was wearing, but he said, "No. You really need to pack a change of clothes."  He said that he couldn't tell me why.  when I asked what kind of clothes to pack for afterward, he said, "Pack something comfortable that you can wear outside."  I really didn't know what to think, but I just went with it.  I was excited to see what he had planned for after Crystal Hot Springs.
So we headed out.  I had my bag packed with a swimsuit and a change of clothes.  On the way there, we couldn't decide what restaurant we wanted to go to.  We drove past the first restaurant because Roger said that he wanted to drive by "The Firehouse" which was the other place we wanted to eat at.  He said that he wanted to see if it was too crowded.
So, we're driving along, talking, and enjoying each others company, when Roger said, "Oh. Jenny.  I have some bad news."  I was taken off guard by that and from the way he said it (It was like something terrible had happened and he had forgotten to tell me about it) I was really concerned.  He looked over at me and said, "We're not going to Crystal Hot Springs." It took me a second to realize what was happening, but he had said this to me as he was pulling into the Spring Hill Suites hotel.  I was so surprised.  He told me that he knew that I was worn out from the move and could really use a break.  Then he said, "Just wait until you see the room!"  I was so excited!  I almost started crying, I was so happy!  He got the nicest suite they had.  It had a fireplace and a jetted tub (two things that I love)!  This was the best date ever!
Here's where we stayed.
We ended up walking across the parking lot to the Firehouse restaurant.  They had the best pasta ever!  I'm not exaggerating!  It was the best!
While we were relaxing and enjoying our night away from our regular life, Missy sent us a funny text message to show us how she is taking good care of our little ones.  I thought this was so funny! and a cute idea.

We really enjoyed our date.  We slept in and were in no hurry to leave in the morning.  It was so nice!  Before we headed back home, we had to stop at Sam's Club for some toilet paper.  while we were there, we remembered how we have been without a vacuum for a week now and we really needed to get one soon.  I have been talking about a Disson vacuum ever since I used my mom's Disson back in 2009.  It really truly was the best vacuum I had ever used.  So we decided to see what they had at Sam's Club.  They had my Disson vacuum and Roger was super duper nice and bought it for me!  I know it's silly to get so excited over a vacuum, but I've really been wishing for one of these ever since I used my mom's.

Tuesday - March 26, 2013
Missy kept telling us that she brought a game for us to play, but before she told us about it, we all had to agree to play.  We all agreed to play.  She had us all sit around the table where she had some brown paper baggies sitting.  She told us that we were going to play Fear Factor.  We would each take turns going first.  So the rules were that on your turn to be first, you grab a bag from the middle of the table, open it up and eat a bite of whatever is inside, then you pass it around and everybody else has to try it.  Some bags had candy, but others had really disgusting things like worms, some chili mango thing, sardines, and crickets.  It was pretty gross, but we all participated and we all tried everything.  the crickets and worms where cooked and seasoned, but they were still disgusting. Again, I took more videos than pictures, so I don't have a lot of pictures to post.
These first pictures are of us trying the chili mango.  I think, of everything, that was the worst!  It was way too spicy and it just got hotter the longer you kept it in your mouth - or at least that's what Roger said.  I spit my bite out pretty fast.

Rachael Wilding's Farwell and a surprise from Missy and Becca - March 24th

Roger's niece, Missy, had arranged to come and stay with us for a week.  We love it when she comes!  We have too much fun!  They kids were really excited that she was going to be coming, but they were sad that Becca wasn't going to be coming with her this time. We explained to the kids that Becca couldn't make it this time, but Missy would come over after church and the family get together.  The kids couldn't wait!  We didn't tell them that Becca and Missy decided to come on Saturday night, so Becca would be able to spend one night with us then she would ride home with her family on Sunday, after the family get together.
I was putting the kids to bed on Saturday night when the doorbell rang.  Somehow the kids just knew.  They all went running downstairs and were so excited to see Missy and Becca.  That was fun!
On Sunday morning we went to Ogden to attend church with Roger's family and listen to a talk from Roger's niece, Racheal.  She is leaving on her mission soon.  It is so crazy that she is grown up and leaving on a mission.  Time goes too fast sometimes.  She gave a really good talk and it was fun to go and spend some time with family.

Moving Days - March 15 - 18, 2013

Friday - March 15, 2013
We gave ourselves 2 days to move, since we knew we weren't going to have a lot of help.
Here's the new place at the start of our moving things in.

Saturday - March 16, 2013
I know, I'm a dork for taking a picture of myself with everybody behind me working so hard.  They had a really hard time moving the piano.  We forgot to get a dolly.
Parker and Sarah Wilde worked really hard picking up garbage and toys from around the yard.

Monday - March 18, 2013
Parker posing in the empty living room.  Our vacuum of 11 years decided to quit on us.  We tried desperately to get it to work, so we could finish vacuuming the whole house.  The bummer is, that I saved the room that needed the vacuuming the most, for last.  So this living room floor was not in very good shape.
I'm going to miss this kitchen.  It was very good to me.

Another part of the house that I will desperately miss.  Look at all of this storage area that was under the house.  It was so nice!  I loved being able to hang on to everything, because I had a place to keep it with out making the house look cluttery.  When we build a house, it will definitely have a large storage area.

Ice Skating - March 11, 2013

Monday - March 11, 2013
We had to take a break from our packing.  On Sunday the 10th.  Roger and the kids went to Tooele to go to a Moser family get together.  I stayed home and worked on packing. I was feeling too overwhelmed.  Especially since I knew we had to spend Monday in Salt Lake.  I needed all the time I possible could have to get everything packed and ready to go.
On Monday, I had an appointment with my sister and a lady that she is doing a wedding for.  I had to be there, since I am making her wedding cake.  Before our appointment, we had to go to Ogden for a dentist appointment for Parker.  After the dentist appointment, we met Roger's nephew, Jonny, at the ice skating rink for a little play time.  That was nice.  We needed to do something fun.  Life get's too busy when you are moving.  We had a lot of fun ice skating.
I took a lot more videos than I did pictures.  So these are all the pictures I have to show for our fun ice skating adventure.  Brinley and I look like we are having lots of fun.  It's a bummer I didn't get any pictures of the others.

Moving Day is Almost Here - March 10, 2013

Here is what the house looks like all boxed up.  I still have a lot to do.  Moving is a lot of work!

Our Couch Came - March 6 - 7, 2013

Last night, we got rid of our couches, in order to have room for our new couch.  After the old couches were taken out, I set up the air mattress, so we had something comfy to sit or lay on while we watched tv.
Here's our new couch!  I love it!  It's so exciting to be able to buy some furniture.  Most of our furniture is hand-me-down furniture.  I love what we have, but it's exciting to be able to go and pick out your own and get something that's more your style.

Morning at the Moser's - March 4, 2013

Monday - I decided to takes some pictures of us in the morning.  We're not too exciting.  I just worry that I don't take enough pictures anymore.  When the kids were littler I was taking pictures all of the time.  Now, I forget.  I'll try to do better.  So here we are.

Easy Bake Oven - March 1st

My friend Heather invited us over to her house to make some cookies with her daughter's easy bake oven.  The girls loved it!  Brinley keeps asking for an easy bake oven of her own.
