Parker's first Friend Sleepover - May 31, 2012

Thursday - May 31, 2012
I've started babysitting Braxin 2 or 3 times a week.  The weather is so nice and we just want to be outside all of the time.  I just thought it would be really nice if I had a good place outside for Braxin to play that had some shade.  So I got creative and covered the back patio.  It worked really well.  Braxin enjoyed his outside time.  Our neighbor, Ty, came over and enjoyed it also.
Parker's friend Jeshua came over to play for a while today.  Parker and him started planning how they should have a sleepover.  Parker has never had a friend sleepover before, so I thought it was about time we did this.  The funny thing about Parker is that he is a big sleeper.  At 8:00 pm everyday, his body is ready for sleep and he can hardly keep his eyes open pass then.  Well, it turns out that his friend Jeshua is the opposite of Parker.  He has a hard time going to sleep.  His mom sent him with some kind of sleeping pill, but it didn't kick in for a long time.  Parker was out by 8:00 pm and Jeshua was just sort of wandering through the house looking for something to do.  Jeshua stayed up until a little after midnight.  I felt bad because he got a little bored, but it wasn't too terrible.

Roger's 33rd Birthday!

Friday - May 25, 2012
I stayed up late and decorated the house for Roger's birthday.

Roger had to work last night, so he slept through the whole first half of his birthday.  When he woke up, the kids were so excited to give him his gifts, so he came straight into the kitchen and sat at the table for his gifts.  You can tell he is still a little tired.
Roger doesn't like pie, so we bought him a Marie Calandar's Chocolate Satin pie.

Roger's birthday was pretty fun, except that Roger had to work.  We only got to see him for a few hours on his birthday, so we did our best to make those few hours enjoyable for him.  He woke up around 2:00 pm, then he had to go to work at 5:15 pm.  It's a bummer to work on your birthday.  roger handles that much better than I think I would.

Playground at Iceskating Rink - May 21, 2012

We came to watch Roger play hockey tonight.  They have a weird little playground at the iceskating rink.  The kids have always wanted to play on it, but we are usually in a hurry so they never get to.  We decided to make time and let them play today.  They had fun.

Parker's Birthday!

Saturday - May 19, 2012
Parker's birthday is on a Saturday this year.  That makes it a perfect day for a birthday party.  Parker is turning 8 years old!  He has grown up so fast.  It's crazy!  Here is a picture of his Lightening McQueen birthday cake and all the other decorations I stayed up late preparing.

The kids are always so excited to see all the goodies on the table and all the fun birthday decorations on the morning of their birthdays.
Parker loves these little spinning tops.
Here are the kids waiting as patiently as they could for all the party fun to start.
Parker begged and begged for me to let him open some gifts before everyone got here.  I let him open two.  He opened his new truck and a fun game where you throw the balls into the holes.  The weird looking noodle thing outside, is my creation.  I was trying to make a game that I saw on Pinterest.  I thought it would be fun for Parker's party, but it didn't stay up long enough for any of us to enjoy it.  It was a fun idea, I just need more time to figure out a good way to get it to stay up.  Your supposed to stand back and throw pool noodles at it and try to get them through the holes.  I'll figure out a good way to make it work eventually.
We went across the street with all of Parker's friends and played at the playground.  When we finally got tired of this, we headed back to our house for cake, ice cream, and gifts, then the party was over.

Grandma Moser came.  She brought some beef jerky for Roger for his birthday.  His birthday is in 6 days.

After the party, we set up the pools and spent pretty much the rest of the day playing outside.  The kids love to dry off by laying out on the driveway.  They love the way the warm cement feels.

After all of the friends had gone home, Alissa said she was going back out to swim.  I peaked out the window to see how she was doing and I saw that she was asleep on the chair sitting in the pool.  So, I grabbed the camera and snuck out to take some pictures of her, then wake her up.  I snapped the first picture, then Alissa jumped up and yelled, "Aargh!"  I, of course, jumped and screamed.  She had been planning it the whole time.  She knew I would come out and take pictures when I saw her.  I don't know how long she laid like that before I saw her.  She's funny.  I can't believe she did that.  It was funny!  Parker had snuck out behind me and watched the whole thing.  they thought it was hilarious.

Swimming in the front yard - May 14, 2012

Monday - May 14, 2012
We are too excited for summer and so happy that it is warm enough to set up our pools.  Brinley was really enjoying relaxing and chillin' in the pool.

Since we set it up in the front yard, we ended up with lots of neighborhood kids coming and going.  The kids had a ton of fun.  In the pictures below, we have Kason, Jeshua, and Shaylie over.

Pinterest Fun - May 13, 2012

Sunday - May 13, 2012
We tried out a couple of the fun ideas I found on Pinterest.  We made some bubble solution that was supposed to be super strong and make bubbles that don't pop easily and we made cloud dough.  I didn't get pictures of the kids playing with the cloud dough, but you can see it spread out all over the driveway.  They had fun.  The bubbles were fun also, but I don't think they were any different than regular bubble solution.  It was fun to have a lot of bubble solution for a lot less money than buying a big container of it at the store.

Brinley and her friend, Kaylie - May 12, 2012

Saturday - May 12, 2012
Brinley's friend Kaylie came over to play for a while today.  Again, the kids asked if they could have the camera and take some pictures.  Here they are.

Sleepover With Sydney - May 11, 2012

Friday - May 11, 2012
Alissa's new friend, Sydney came over for a sleepover tonight.  We set up the tent inside for them to sleep in.  It was a lot of fun.  The only bummer was that we used to have a smaller tent that worked great for indoor camping, but it broke.  Now our only tent is much bigger, which is nice for camping outside, but terrible for someone like me who likes to play pretend camping indoors.  So, we couldn't fully set up the tent.  We couldn't put the side things up.  the middle part of the tent just barely fit in the living room.  The kids thought it was lots of fun.  The kids asked if they could use the camera to take some pictures and make a video of their fun, so most of these pictures were taken by them.
