Happy Anniversary to Roger and Me - November 29, 2011

Tuesday - November 29, 2011
Roger and I have been married for ten years!  This was supposed to be our big Anniversary where we finally go on a weekend long vacation, just Roger and I.  We have been talking about it for years.  Of course, we had no idea what our situation would be at this point in our lives, we just assumed that it would all work out they way we planned.  We were wrong.  We are broke.  There is no possible way that we can go anywhere for our Anniversary.  It's a bummer, but we're okay with it.  I'm sure there will be a time at some point in our lives that we will get to go away for a weekend Anniversary trip.
We had a nice relaxing day at home.  While the kids were at school, Roger took me to Denny's for an Anniversary meal.  It was the most affordable place for us to go.  It's kind of funny that our big day turned out to be this way.  We had a lot of fun together.  The biggest bummer of the day is that Roger had to go to work tonight.  So, we didn't even get to spend the whole day together.  we plan to go out to a nice dinner as son as we can afford it.
I wanted to do something special today, so we decorated the Christmas tree.

We Moved! - November 27, 2011

Sunday - November 27, 2011
We had all our friends and Family come and help us move yesterday.  This house is much smaller than our old house, so we had to put a lot of stuff in a storage unit.  That will be different.
Our home in Tremonton was not bad. I had a hard time leaving it, because of all the fond memories that we created there. We always planned on that home being a starter home for us, but then we got stuck there. The house was old and falling apart. It was a bit of a money pit. In October, we woke up in the morning to a wet floor and cracked tiles. The refrigerator had a slow leak in the back. Who knows how long it had been leaking. The wood under the tile was soaked and started to expand, that's when all the tiles broke. That was the straw that broke the camels back! That's when we said, "what are we doing here?" Since we moved in the routine has gone like this: Something breaks, we go into debt to fix it, we get the debt paid off (or we're almost out of debt) when something breaks again. It has been a losing battle to keep a house that we never really planned to stay in for that long. So we did it! We moved. We plan to rent until Roger finishes school. Now that we are out of that house, I no longer feel stuck here in Tremonton. It clicked in our brains about 2 weeks ago, that we can finally get away from this place. So now we are trying to find Roger a new job. We are ready to live closer to family.

Thanksgiving - November 24, 2011

Thursday - November 24, 2011
We went to Kristy's house for Thanksgiving this year.  The kids love playing with their cousins.  They had a lot of fun.  We don't get to see Kristy's kids very often.  It was nice of Kristy to have Thanksgiving at her house.  Shelley quit taking her medicine about a month ago.  Things are changing a little and she doesn't handle that well.  She lied and said she was taking her medicine, but she wasn't.  she just got worse and worse.  I don't like it when she is off of her medicine.  It is too weird.  It's like she's not even there.  She got too bad, so they had to put her in the hospital until they can get her functioning normally again.  They let Dad take her to Thanksgiving dinner, but she has to go back right after.  It's just really weird to try and talk to her.  It's like she's in her own little world and she doesn't see or hear anything around her.  Every once in a while you can get her attention and she'll look at you, but when you look in her eyes, it's like it's not Shelley.  It's really weird, I don't know how to explain it.  I didn't take a lot of pictures of our Thanksgiving fun, but one of the pictures I took, I thought was really interesting.  There is a big orb covering Shelley's face.  I just thought it was really weird considering the situation and how it seems like she's not really there.

Sleeping in the Living Room - November 20, 2011

Sunday - November 20, 2011
I packed up the kids' bedrooms, so we moved their mattresses to the living room.  They are more comfortable this way and now I can use their rooms to stack boxes as I get them all packed.

Setting up the Tree and Playing in the Snow - November 18, 2011

Friday - November 18, 2011
They told us we could start moving things into our new rental house this weekend.  so the kids and I took some thing over there.  The funnest thing we did though, was that we went in and set up the Christmas tree.  I'm just really excited for Christmas.  I thought it'd be easier if the tree is already up when we move in.
I love the snow.  We couldn't wait to come out and play in it.  I'm going to miss this house, so I brought the camera with us.  I took pictures of our walk to the school and back so we can remember what it is like.

Our New Floor - November 11, 2011

Friday - November 11, 2011
The floor in the kitchen has been put in.  We can't walk on it for a day or so.  It is really weird having all of our kitchen appliances in the living room, but it is also kind of fun.  This is our livingchen (living room/kitchen).  The kids like it.  It is different and fun for them.  I had to get creative with dinner, since we don't have a kitchen to use at the moment.  I plugged in the crockpot and heated up some soup.  I also bought bread bowls for us to eat it in.  It was yummy.  It was also very different to sit down to dinner at the table in the living room.
 Here's how the kitchen looks

Our Torn up Kitchen - November 10, 2011

Thursday - November 10, 2011
It is so weird to see the kitchen floor like this.  It makes the house feel like it is a completely different house.  It doesn't feel like our house when it's like this.  It makes it a little easier to move.  I'm really tired of living in a torn up house.  The kids were being really goofy playing in here.  Brinley kept turning around and pretending to fart. Alissa and Parker kept laughing which encouraged her to do it more.

They thought it was really weird to see the cabinets like this.

We found a House to Rent - November 7, 2011

Monday - November 7, 2011
We found a cute little house out in the middle of nowhere.  It's in a tiny little town called Penrose.  I've always dreamed of living on a farm.  This is what I imagined living in a small town to be like, not like our old house which was in a regular neighborhood.  I always dreamed of living on a farm or just out in the country where neighbors weren't so close.  So, I'm really excited to try this out.  This house is much tinier than we are used to, but the rent is really cheap.  We are hoping that we can live here for a while and save some money.  I had Tammy and Kristen Beverly come with me today so I could pay the rent and show them where we are moving to.

Before we found this house, I went and looked at another rental house out this way.  It was a very interesting house.  It seemed like it would be a nice place to live, but I really didn't like the kitchen and the weird floor plan.  I couldn't really imagine how I would decorate or arrange furniture in a house like that.  It had like 3 living rooms, a teeny tiny kitchen, and 3 small bedrooms upstairs.  There was no master bedroom.  The Realtor said that most people use one of the living rooms as a bedroom.  The weirdest thing about the house was in the upstairs hallway. There was a toilet and a sink right out in the open.  I thought it was really funny and weird looking.  Here are pictures of the outside of the house.  I really wish I had taken pictures of the inside.  I just didn't think about it.
