We play outside in our little swimming pools all the time lately. I usually sit in a chair in the shade reading a book, while the kids play in the pools. It is a lot of fun for the kids and so nice for me, because I get to relax. Now that the kids are getting older I don't have to be right next to the pool holding on to one of them so they won't drown. It is so nice!
Anyway, I have been taking lots of pictures and videos of all our fun and I thought it was about time that I share some of them. These pictures are from July 25th. That was the weekend of Tremonton City Days. So in the morning we went to the park where they had a lot of bounce houses up and fun stuff like that for the kids. It was really hot, so when we got back we set up the swimming pools and cooled down. (I realized that we did that the last two years after we went to Tremonton City Days. It is becoming a tradition for us.) Roger was with us playing outside. I don't get to relax and read a book when Roger comes out, because he always wants to play. We have lots of fun together.
Our neighbors were going out of town. They had a half of a watermelon left over from the 24th celebrations. They didn't want it to go bad while they were gone, so they brought it over to us. It was so yummy! I took pictures of Roger, Parker and Alissa taking big bites.
Brinley didn't want to come eat watermelon yet. she was having too much fun in the pool.
After eating the watermelon, Roger decided it was time for him to get in the pool. He convinced me to join him, but since I am the camera man, there are no pictures of me. I did set the video camera up before I got in so we have video of our pool fun. It's a long video, so I'm not gonna share it with you.
Roger stayed out and played in the water for a long time, but he had the hose with him for most of the time. So if you got too close, you got sprayed. The kids kept trying to sneak over and grab the hose every time he put it down, so they could spray him. But he always got the hose back and sprayed them worse than they got him. The kids loved it! They had a lot of fun. I only approached Roger if I had the camera in my hands, so he would not be able to spray me. But the camera did not stop him, he still sprayed me. He just sprayed my legs.
After Roger went in, Alissa made up an obstacle course. They ran through the sprinkler.
Through the other swimming pool. (I have a picture of it, but I couldn't get it in the right place on my post. I don't know why it won't let me move the pictures around right now, but it won't. So I just deleted it.) Then they slide down the slide and into the pool.
After they finished playing obstacle course, Alissa asked me to take some pictures of her swimming. Ever since we went to visit Aunt Kelly and played in her big swimming pool, Alissa has been practicing going under the water so she won't be afraid. She almost drowned when she was at the pool at Kelly's. After that experience, Kelly started teaching her about being comfortable in the water and how to hold her breath when she goes under and a little about swimming. Alissa loved having Aunt Kelly teach her all that stuff. When ever she does a good job, she says that she thinks Aunt Kelly would be so proud of her.
We decided it was time to put the pools away. After we finished putting everything away, Alissa grabbed her bike and asked if we would take the training wheels off. She said she didn't want to use them anymore, because none of her friends used training wheels anymore. So Roger took them off. I was inside, but roger said she just got on the bike and started riding. she did really well. Roger was yelling for me to come see. I hurried out and took some pictures. I was so surprised at how well she was doing. Roger had to teach her how to turn with out falling and help her with stopping. She has been out practicing everyday since then and she is doing really well. She loves riding her bike.
Parker was just being goofy playing on the slide, so I had to take some pictures of him.
Brinley wanted pictures of her riding her scooter. She is starting to go really fast on it now.
The sky looked really cool with the clouds and the color, so I took some pictures. I looked up at the sky while I was taking this picture and I didn't see a white ball of something flying through the air. So I was surprised when I looked down at my picture and saw this. So I hurried and took another one. There was nothing. I'm sure it was probably just an insect or something that I didn't see and the light from the flash reflected off of it. I just thought it was fun. I like to imagine that it is something mysterious and unknown.
