We went to some yard sales this morning and found these super fun bouncy shoes.  Alissa came outside to try them out.  They're fun, but dangerous,........ but still fun.

Pioneer Day 2012

Tuesday - July 24, 2012

We woke up early and went to the Bear River City Parade to watch Alissa and Erin do their Color Guard thing.  Alissa ended up marching on the other side of the road from where we were sitting so it was hard to get a good picture of her.

 The kids and Roger had a lot of fun playing with these little hammer toys that Alissa and Roger won at Lagoon.

 Roger had to work tonight, so we couldn't do fireworks (more like I didn't want to be the responsible for lighting all the fireworks, plus they're expensive).  We had a few sparklers and some poppy things.  So we went outside to do those, then we planned to walk around the neighborhood and watch everybody else's fireworks.  We had a few of the neighborhood kids that walked around with us.  It was a lot of fun.

Color Guard Camp - July 23, 2012

Alissa and Erin went to the color guard day camp again this year.  They love the Color Guard so much.  I love watching them.  It is so fun.  I wish Brinley would do it, but she's too scared.  They have the camp for a couple of hours in the morning, then the parents are invited to come and watch the kids perform.  The big event is when they march in the Bear River City Parade the next day.

Tremonton City Days - July 21, 2012

We love Tremonton City Days!  We always go in the morning to play on the bounce house toys.  The kids could play on those forever.  Around 1:00 pm they start all the fun contests.  Alissa did all of the contests this year.  It was so fun to watch the kids participating this time and it was nice to get free lunch.  Because 3 of the contests involve food.  Parker participated in the hot dog eating contest, the soda chug, and the pie eating contest.  I'm so proud of him for being brave enough to do that.  I didn't expect him to join in on those things.

Roger and Alissa went to Lagoon today for Alissa's early birthday present.  Alissa loves Lagoon.  She is brave and will go on all of the rides.

Missy and Becca were going to be at a YSA activity at Willard Bay.  Since Willard Bay is so close, they invited us to meet them there.  This is the first time I've ever been a swimming there.  The water was pretty yucky but it was still lots of fun.

Parker's Cub Scout Uniform - July 9, 2012

Parker is in cub scouts now!  I can't believe how grown up he is getting.  We went to get his cub scout uniform today and he looks so handsome in it.

Playing at the Park - July 8, 2012

We were in the mood for something different, so Roger brought us to a park in Logan.  It is a park that we had come to for a family reunion at some point.  It was a nice, relaxing, and fun evening.

Happy Independence Day!

We went to the Wilding's house to celebrate Independence Day.  We love their fun deck in the backyard.  they live up high on the mountain and it is the perfect, most relaxing place to sit, relax, and enjoy watching all the fireworks that are going off.  You can see all the city firework shows and all the fireworks that people below are lighting.

When we first got there, Scott took Roger down to see their bees.  I really don't like bees, so I was not interested in going anywhere near them.

The most exciting thing that happened was when a neighbor chose to ignore the fireworks ban for their area and he accidentally lit the field behind their houses on fire.  Everyone ran out with buckets of water to get it out as fast as they could.  People were not happy with him.  A couple neighbors were yelling angrily to him.  There were a lot of places in Utah where they banned fireworks this year because of how dry it has been.
