Family Get Together - November 9, 2010

Tuesday - November 9, 2010
One year ago today, my mom passed away.  I can't believe it's been a year.  I miss her so much!  My sisters and I all decided to have a get together today.  We knew that all of us would be feeling really sad and none of us wanted to face the day alone.
Missy wants to do a tree for the Festival of Trees.  She wants us all to be involved.  We are doing an M&M tree.  My mom loved M&Ms.  Missy brought and bunch of the things she had bought for the tree, so we could see it and discuss how we are going to decorate it.  I didn't get any really good pictures, but here's the pictures I did get.

Our Thanksgiving Tree and New Dress up Clothes - November 7, 2010

Sunday - November 7th
I decided to try something new this year.  Last year, when I was feeling so sad because my mom passed away, Roger let me decorate the house for Christmas early, because Christmas makes me feel happy.  He told me I can decorate as early as I want from now on.  I put up the Christmas tree today, but because we are setting it up so early, I decided to make it into a Thanksgiving tree.  I glued feathers on the back of some ornaments so they look like turkeys and we used Thanksgiving colors.  The kids were excited.  We had fun decorating.  After we decorated, the kids pulled out their extra large coloring books that I had bought at the dollar store where I bought the decorations.  We love coloring.

Parker's loving his new fuzzy gloves.
I bought some costumes at Walmart.  All of the Halloween stuff was on sale.  I tried to find costumes that would fit them next year, but it wasn't easy to find ones in their sizes.  I just bought what I could with the plan to let the kids use them as dress up clothes.  They couldn't wait to start dressing up.

Happy Halloween! - October 30, 2010

Saturday - October 30th
Since Halloween falls on Sunday this year, we celebrated on Saturday.  The kids were so excited all day.  They couldn't wait for the trunk-or-treat and trick-or-treating.

Alissa wanted to be a bunny.  Her and Erin planned to be the same thing this year.  Parker wanted to be a ninja and we were surprised to find out that Erin's brother, Ben decided to be a ninja also.  Brinley always wants to be a princess or a fairy princes.  This year she decided to just be a princess with out the fairy.
 Two little bunny friends
Brinley wore her princess costume to the tunk-or-treat, then decided to be a fairy princess when we went trick-or-treating.  We had a lot of fun trick-or-treating.  The kids got a lot of candy.  Yea! Candy, candy, candy!

Brinley's Pumpkin - October 28, 2010

Thursday - October 28th
Brinley carved her pumpkin today since she slept through it last night.  She told me how she wanted it carved.  I had some pictures and ideas for her to look at.  This is what she wanted.  I think it's cute.  I like the ears.  I'm glad she let me do the ears like that.
