Pickin' Pumpkins - October 16, 2015

Friday - October 16th
We moved a few things into the new house today.  The kids and I filled up the U-Haul as much as we could while Roger slept.  When he woke up, he moved the heavy things that we couldn't lift and a few more things into the U-Haul, then we headed to the house to unload.  Tomorrow is our big moving day, when we have people coming to help us out.  At least, we hope people are going to come and help us out.  It sounds like no one from either of our families will be able to make it.  We asked for help from our ward now, our new ward, the missionaries, and our friends.  I really hope people will show up.  Here are the pictures of our new house and the little bit of moving in we got to do today.
Parker is so excited to have a bike to ride and room to ride it.

Alissa's friend, Sydney, who lives close by now, came over to help.  This is Alissa;s room.

After Roger left to work, we decided to walk over to a near by pumpkin patch and get some pumpkins.  My friend, Heather, and 2 of her kiddos came to get pumpkins with us.  Her daughter, Mikenna didn't come because she is gone to her dad's for the weekend.  We had fun finding our pumpkins.

We walked over to the pumpkin patch.  It is only a block away from us, so I thought it was no big deal, but I was wrong.  Trying to carry all of the pumpkins home was horrible.  We didn't get very far before, I decided to run ahead and get the car.  Silly us.
The pictures below are: Heather, Alissa, Parker, Brinley, Kirtlynd (in the stroller), and Braxin.
We didn't hang out after we got the pumpkins.  I needed to get home to finish up some packing and make sure I have everything ready for our move tomorrow.

Brinley's Birthday - October 15, 2015

Thursday - October 15th
It was weird to not wake up to the house being all decorated like we normally do on birthdays.  I didn't decorate, because Brinley really wants to celebrate her birthday in our new house.  We would have moved in this last weekend, but there was a mess up in some of the paperwork, which made it so we had to wait another week.  The house should have officially been ours yesterday, but do to another mess up in paperwork, as of this morning, it was not officially ours.  The house officially became ours at 10:00am this morning!  It was such a relief that it all worked out. Especially since we had scheduled to have Brinley's party there.  We had a lot of people invited to come over at 2:00pm.  I was a little worried we were going to have to cancel the party.
So, we woke up in an undecorated house.  Also, our rooms aren't all put together, so it was more fun to sleep in the living room.
These are the selfies we took after we got the phone call that the house was officially ours!  We were excited and being goofy.  After we took the pictures, we gathered all the things we needed to decorate and get the house ready for the party and we headed over there.

We brought our friends, Teirnynn and Malaiyah to come and help us.
We used Halloween decorations mostly.  Since there was no furniture, there was plenty room to set up a bubble.  I've been wanting to try a black bubble.  I thought it would be fun, since it's Halloween time.  I tried to find every light up, flashing toy we had, so they could have some light in the bubble and have a dance party.  They were really wild in there.  By the end of the party, there were lots of holes in the bubble.  But, that's okay.  They had fun!
We all sat down stairs in the family room to watch Brinley open her presents.

Before the party started, I was supposed to go and pick up Alissa's friend, Tonya.  We were excited that she was able to come, because Alissa doesn't get to see her very often.  I ran out of time and knew I wouldn't be able to go and pick her up before the other guest started arriving.  So, I texted the Beverly's and asked if they would pick her up on their way to drop Erin off here.  They said they would.  A half hour after the party started they still weren't here.  I called Erin's mom, only to find out that Erin told her the party started at 4:00.  So, they were in Brigham at Walmart buying a gift.  The party was scheduled to start at 2 and end at 4.  Erin's mom was frustrated with her for getting the time wrong.  They hurried back, picked up Tonya and dropped them off at our house.  I felt so bad for not picking up Tonya.  I could tell she was frustrated.  They ended up getting here an hour late. She got permission to stay at our house later, since she didn't get here when she had originally planned.  That was good.  It was nice for her and Alissa to have more time together.
After the presents, we sang happy birthday and had cake and ice cream.  I decided to make cupcakes.  I thought that'd be easier, since we don't have any dishes or anything here.  I tried to bring whatever I could, but it was hard to find things, since so much of our stuff is in boxes.

When the party was over, a couple of friends stayed around to play for a while.  Roger had to leave to go to work.  The kids and I stayed to clean up and play.  Erin and Tonya stayed a little longer and our new neighbor's across the street stayed.  The kids had fun playing games.  The thing they played the longest was ghost in the graveyard.  It was fun, because there was no furniture in the way and lots of room to run and play.
After the party and before we went to bed, Brinley went up to the bathroom mirror to try out some of her new make up.  There was some dark red lipstick that reminded her of Miranda Sings.  So, she put her lip stick on like Miranda sings.  Alissa came up and saw what she did and decided to join her.  They are too funny!  I was laughing so hard at their Miranda sings impersonations.  They are funny, funny girls!

This is where Parker and Brinley will be sleeping tonight.  Their beds are all packed up and ready to go, but we laid their mattresses on the floor and made it as comfy as we could.
Here are the girlies cleaning the make up off their faces so they can go to sleep.  We plan to wake up and start moving things in to the new house tomorrow.

At Church - October 11, 2015

Sunday - October 11th
I've never done this before, but, we were sitting in sacrament meeting and I was thinking about how it is our last Sunday in the 7th ward and the idea to take a picture came to my mind.  I had my phone on silence so it didn't make any sounds.  I figured, I'd snap a few pictures of us just sitting here listening to the talk.  I love my family!

Bethany's Birthday Party - October 10, 2015

Saturday - October 10th
Brinley got invited to go to her friend, Bethany's Birthday party.  She was s o excited to go and see Bethany again.  They hadn't seen each other in a while.  I really hope they'll get to play more often after we move.  For Bethany's birthday party, their neighbor and friend, let them borrow and helped them set up a big bounce house.  It was so fun!  Brinley was so excited to go play.
When we went to pick up Brinley, we were invited to go in and play for a little bit.  I asked if I could go in it.  Bethany's mom laughed and told me that she had been in it a few times also.  We both went in it and jumped.  It was good fun.  I love doing things that make me feel like a kid again.  All the kids thought it was funny that we kept going in there.

Alissa Lost - October 4, 2015

Sunday - October 4th
Alissa lost the vote to become Vice President in her class.  She was really bummed at first.  But, after a couple days, she is feeling better about it.  She really likes everybody in her class, so she is okay with the people who did win.  I told her to pose with her poster for me.  The original plan was for her to make a sad face.   She tried, but we both kept laughing.  We kept trying to get a picture with her having a sad face.  That's why I took so many pictures.

Halloween Masks - October 3, 2015

Saturday - October 3rd

We went to Walmart to do a little shopping.  We still haven't decided on our costumes for Halloween, so we stopped to look at the Halloween stuff for ideas.  There were a lot of funny masks.  We had too much fun trying them all on.

This morning, Parker played Minecraft for a while.  The kids are always wanting to make their own YouTube channels where they play video games.  So, they record themselves playing quite often.  I just never get the editing done.  There have been a few times that we started to edit, but the kids got bored before we finished.  I decided to just do a quick edit on the videos as they make them and share them on my blog.  If they like the videos, I'll help them post them on their YouTube channels.

Parker Got His Tenderfoot - October 1, 2015

Thursday - October 1st

We went to Scouts tonight.  I don't know what they call their big meetings that they have to give the scouts their badges they have earned.  But this is Parker's first time of going to one and the last time he will go to one in this ward.  Parker met all the requirements necessary for him to get his first badge in the scouts.  He earned his Tenderfoot!

Brinley had a chance to go through all the hand-me-down clothes we got from Kari's house.  She was so excited!  She changes her clothes a lot, because she can't decide what to wear.  This was her favorite of the clothes she tried on today.  She loves these funny pants, but her favorite things are the sunglasses and the boots.

Running For Vice President - September 30, 2015

Wednesday - September 30th
Alissa decided to run for Vice President of her class at school.  This is the poster idea we came up with.
We took a lot of pictures, so she had a lot to choose from.  She was trying to move her arms and exaggerate her movements for the picture.  At first we took the pictures on the grass by the town house, but after looking at those we decided it would be better to take them out in the street.

Tammy's Birthday - September 28, 2015

Monday - September 28th
We got invited to Tammy Beverly's birthday party.  They had a princess themed birthday party for her.  It was a lot of fun to go and hang out with them.  I really like the Beverlys.  I'm glad that we got to go and that Tammy got to have such a fun birthday.  It was supposed to be a surprise party for her, but her son, Ben ended up telling her about it before it happened.  She wasn't surprised, but she was happy to have the party.  Merikae came to the party.  I haven't seen or talked to her in a really long time, so that was fun.
Merikae gave Alissa and I a ride home from the party and we had a lot of fun visiting with her.  The missionaries were out and about and stopped by for a quick visit also.  I guess they had been meeting with Merikae's husband.  So, they were surprised to see Merikae when they stopped at our house.  It was a fun day.
