Outside School and More Hats - September 13, 2016

Tuesday - September 13th

Some more pictures of our super cute little puppy, Forest.  If you can't tell, we love him so much and think he is super cute.  Having a puppy is fun....... and exhausting.... and a lot of work....but mostly fun.

We decided to do our school work outside today, since it was such a nice day.  We took blankets out, some food for lunch, cleaned off and set up the table, and set up the umbrella.  We spent a lot of time getting everything all set up so we could do our school work outside.  As soon as we had it all ready, we sat down to get to work.  Alissa realized that she couldn't get an internet connection out there, so she had to go back in.  Forest started getting into trouble.  He wouldn't stop trying to eat our blankets that we had laid down for us to sit on.  Then the bees started bugging us.  Everything was going wrong and we realized that we were getting too hot.  So, we packed everything back up and headed inside to do our school work.  It was frustrating to do all that work, for nothing.  Also, it took a lot of time away from our school work.  After we got everything cleaned up, we put Forest in his crate and we were able to get some school work done.

Brinley is funny.  She was playing with her silly putty and decided to do this.  It looks really funny and I didn't think she was really going to be able to get it off easily, so I kept snapping pictures of her as she tried to get it off.

I added fluffy stuff over the eyes of Brinley's owl hat.  She likes the way it looks.  I also finished a hat for Ashlea and a hat for Melody.  I was hoping they would come over to play with Brinley so I could have them pose for pictures also.  I know Brinley gets tired of being the only one willing to model my hats.  Ashlea ended up not being able to play and Melody was sick, so she also couldn't play today.  Nyla decided to come out and play for a little while.  So, I gave her a pumpkin hat.  Nyla ended up posing in all of the hats also.  Brinley was being a goof while Nyla was getting her picture taken.  She kept going inside and coming outside with some of the other hats I've made.  Then she would jump in front of Nyla and just be goofy and weird.  It made us all laugh, so I was okay with it.

This is the point where Brinley had had enough and decided she really wanted someone else to model hats with her.  So, I took a few more pictures and we went to get Nyla.

Hats - September 12, 2016

Monday - September 12th

I need to start selling my hats again, so I decided to make some Halloween hats to get things started.  I took advice from my cousin and decided to take better pictures of my hats.  I thought the pictures I was taking before were fine, but I can see the big difference that taking more professional pictures make.  They are a lot more appealing this way.  Brinley is the only one willing to model my hats for me.  I'm gald she's willing.  I know she'll get burned out soon enough.  I don't know what I'll do when that happens.

Art - September 8, 2016

Thursday - September 8th

Parker and Brinley really wanted to do some art today.  So, after we finished our regular work (math, reading, writing, and that kind of fun stuff), we came outside to do some painting.  Right at first, Parker got carried away and started splattering paint on the driveway.  I wasn't outside when he did that, so I was a little disappointed when I came back out.  I didn't know how easy it would be to get the paint cleaned up.  I hurried to clean it before it dried.  I'm glad it did, because it didn't come off very easy.  After that, the kids were more careful.
After a while, Parker got tired and went inside.  Brinley decided to stay outside, but it was hot, so she made herself a tent.  I should have taken a picture of her tent.  I don't know why I didn't take one.  I take pictures of everything.  I think I've just been so stressed out about the homeschooling, I just don't have time for all my regular stuff.
Parker's hair is getting long.  I need to cut it, but I just keep forgetting.  After his shower, he brushed his hair up and made it spiky.  It's funny, because that's what Roger does when his hair gets really long.  Parker wanted me to take his picture so I could send it to Roger at work.

A Collar for Forest - September 6, 2016

Tuesday - September 6th

We bought a collar for Forest.  We had a small one for him when we first brought him home, but it was really easy for him to slip out of it.  It was pretty pointless.  He only wore it for a day, before we realized we couldn't keep it on him.  so, he has been without a collar since then.  We went and bought a harness this time, so hopefully, he can't slip out of it.  He really doesn't like it.  We need to get him used to it, so we can take him for walks.  So far, we haven't had any problems with him trying to run off or anything like that.  He is afraid of everything, so he stays close to us.  But, he is slowly getting braver.  So, now is a good time to get him used to a leash.  I just didn't expect that he would hate it so much.  Hopefully he will get used to it and start liking it soon.

Forest's First Bath - September 5, 2016

Monday - September 5th

We gave Forest a bath today.  He is such a cute and fun puppy.  We all love him so much.  Everybody wanted to be there when I gave him his first bath.  I thought it was funny that everybody wanted to be there, but I was glad everybody was there, because he kept trying to jump out of the tub.  It was good to have so many people to help me keep him in there.  We let him run around in the living room to dry off after his bath.
Then we took him outside.  He is so stinkin' cute!  We love our puppy!

Fixing the Car - September 4, 2016

Sunday - September 4th

Roger and Dan were outside working on the car.  Parker loves that stuff so he was outside watching.  He kept coming in and telling me about it.  He really wanted me to come out and see what they were doing.  I told him to go out and take some pictures for me.  The pictures he came back with were funny.  My favorite is the one of Roger's bum.  Eventually I went out to watch what they were doing.
I finally got to know my neighbor across the street, Robin Lawrence, better.  She was having a hard time with her family visiting this week, so she came over to get away from them for a little bit.  We walked around the block and talked.  It was a lot of fun.  She is really fun to talk to.

Teirnynn's Baptism - September 3, 2016

Saturday - September 3rd

We got invited to go to Teirnynn's baptism today.  They got special permission to do her baptism later in the day, so they could have it their way, rather than being grouped together with the 14 other baptisms happening today.  If they did it the normal way, they wouldn't get to plan anything.  They don't get to have a say in who speaks, the songs they sing, or anything like that.  They didn't think that would be very special.  Since Malaiyah's baptism was such a big deal and a special thing, they wanted Teirnynn's to feel just as special.  It turned out really nice.  I got asked to lead the music.  That always makes me really nervous, but I did it and it turned out fine.
After the baptism, we had lunch at the church.  They made taco soup and a bunch of other yummy treats.  It was yummy, except they forgot the cheese.  The cheese is what makes Taco soup so wonderful.  So, I was really bummed about that.  After it was over, Teirnynn and Malaiyah came over to our house to play.  Melissa (Malaiyah and Teirnynn's mom) brought the left over Taco soup for us to enjoy.  I love her Taco soup.  It is really yummy.  I was glad to be able to eat it with cheese.
Roger's friend, Dan came to spend the weekend.  He came to hang out and to help fix the car.
Here are Brinley and Teirnynn before the baptism.

Teirnynn with her mom and stepdad,Chaz.  I love that they are a happy family now.  It's fun that Chaz got to baptize her.

Parker's Stool Tower - September 2, 2016

Friday - September 2nd

I had to take pictures of Parker's stool tower because it reminded me of younger Parker.  He used to build towers like this all the time.I looked back through my pictures and found some pictures I'd taken back when he did this before.   So, here is is tower now.

and here is his tower he made back then.  These were taken in March 2008.

I love that he's still doing funny stuff like this.

Teirnynn and Malaiyah are both back from their dad's houses, so now the kids can start hanging out on Friday nights again.  The girls were excited to see them.  They miss their friends during the summer months.
