Summer Fun

We play outside in our little swimming pools all the time lately. I usually sit in a chair in the shade reading a book, while the kids play in the pools. It is a lot of fun for the kids and so nice for me, because I get to relax. Now that the kids are getting older I don't have to be right next to the pool holding on to one of them so they won't drown. It is so nice!
Anyway, I have been taking lots of pictures and videos of all our fun and I thought it was about time that I share some of them. These pictures are from July 25th. That was the weekend of Tremonton City Days. So in the morning we went to the park where they had a lot of bounce houses up and fun stuff like that for the kids. It was really hot, so when we got back we set up the swimming pools and cooled down. (I realized that we did that the last two years after we went to Tremonton City Days. It is becoming a tradition for us.) Roger was with us playing outside. I don't get to relax and read a book when Roger comes out, because he always wants to play. We have lots of fun together.
Our neighbors were going out of town. They had a half of a watermelon left over from the 24th celebrations. They didn't want it to go bad while they were gone, so they brought it over to us. It was so yummy! I took pictures of Roger, Parker and Alissa taking big bites.

Brinley didn't want to come eat watermelon yet. she was having too much fun in the pool.
After eating the watermelon, Roger decided it was time for him to get in the pool. He convinced me to join him, but since I am the camera man, there are no pictures of me. I did set the video camera up before I got in so we have video of our pool fun. It's a long video, so I'm not gonna share it with you.

Roger stayed out and played in the water for a long time, but he had the hose with him for most of the time. So if you got too close, you got sprayed. The kids kept trying to sneak over and grab the hose every time he put it down, so they could spray him. But he always got the hose back and sprayed them worse than they got him. The kids loved it! They had a lot of fun. I only approached Roger if I had the camera in my hands, so he would not be able to spray me. But the camera did not stop him, he still sprayed me. He just sprayed my legs.

After Roger went in, Alissa made up an obstacle course. They ran through the sprinkler.

Through the other swimming pool. (I have a picture of it, but I couldn't get it in the right place on my post. I don't know why it won't let me move the pictures around right now, but it won't. So I just deleted it.) Then they slide down the slide and into the pool.

After they finished playing obstacle course, Alissa asked me to take some pictures of her swimming. Ever since we went to visit Aunt Kelly and played in her big swimming pool, Alissa has been practicing going under the water so she won't be afraid. She almost drowned when she was at the pool at Kelly's. After that experience, Kelly started teaching her about being comfortable in the water and how to hold her breath when she goes under and a little about swimming. Alissa loved having Aunt Kelly teach her all that stuff. When ever she does a good job, she says that she thinks Aunt Kelly would be so proud of her.
We decided it was time to put the pools away. After we finished putting everything away, Alissa grabbed her bike and asked if we would take the training wheels off. She said she didn't want to use them anymore, because none of her friends used training wheels anymore. So Roger took them off. I was inside, but roger said she just got on the bike and started riding. she did really well. Roger was yelling for me to come see. I hurried out and took some pictures. I was so surprised at how well she was doing. Roger had to teach her how to turn with out falling and help her with stopping. She has been out practicing everyday since then and she is doing really well. She loves riding her bike.
Parker was just being goofy playing on the slide, so I had to take some pictures of him.
Brinley wanted pictures of her riding her scooter. She is starting to go really fast on it now.
The sky looked really cool with the clouds and the color, so I took some pictures. I looked up at the sky while I was taking this picture and I didn't see a white ball of something flying through the air. So I was surprised when I looked down at my picture and saw this. So I hurried and took another one. There was nothing. I'm sure it was probably just an insect or something that I didn't see and the light from the flash reflected off of it. I just thought it was fun. I like to imagine that it is something mysterious and unknown.
This is the picture that I took right after I took the first one.

Happy Birthday Delia! We Love You!

This is a Birthday video that we made for me niece Delia. I tried to post it on facebook and my computer started giving me fits, so I will try to post it again later. In order to get the video to fit on my blog, I had to change the speed on the video. That is why everything is going fast.

Taking Good Care of Archie

Brinley was being way too cute this morning. She was in the living room giving Archie loves. Then she came in the kitchen and this is our conversation:
Brinley - Mommy. Archie go to Aunt Kelly's?
Jenny - Yup. Archie will go back to Aunt Kelly's in August.
Brinley - Archie miss Aunt Kelly........He sad.........I KNOW! I make Archie better!
Can I sing Archie a song Mom?
Jenny - I think Archie would love that! That is a really good idea!
Brinley paused and thought for a moment.
Brinley - Ummmm.........Can I sing........"Big Dogs Don't Cry"!?!
Jenny - Ooohh.....That sounds like a song Archie will really like!
Brinley - Okay, Mom.
Then she ran into the living room to sing her song to Archie and give him more loves. And I ran downstairs to get my camera. She is such a cute, funny girl. She is always making me laugh. After she finished her song, she said, "I made him better! Archie happy now!"

Parker's Birthday

I can't believe my little boy is 5 yrs old! Time goes by way too fast.
When I had my first ultra sound, they noticed that Parker had some fluid around his heart. Fluid around the heart usually means there is an abnormality. They couldn't find any reason for the fluid. They looked at his heart every other week until he was born. The fluid slowly went away. By the time he was due, the fluid was all gone. The doctor wanted me to have a C-section so we wouldn't put any stress on Parker's heart. They checked Parker's heart right after he was born. They couldn't see anything wrong so they let me hold him and nurse him. They took Parker to the nursery while they got me settled in my room. they had told me they would bring him to me as soon as I got all settled. But they didn't bring him to me. The doctor came in and told me that something was wrong so they admitted him to the NICU. About an hour after that, they came in and told me that they needed to life flight him to Primary Children's Hospital. I had been prepared for Parker to be in the NICU. I went through that with Alissa and I knew I could handle it. I was not prepared for Parker to be taken to another hospital. I did not handle that well. This is a picture of me holding Parker one more time before they flew him to Primary Children's. My face is all red and puffy from all of the crying I was doing.Roger went to Primary Children's Hospital to be with Parker. Parker had a narrowing in his Aorta. He had surgery the day after he was born. Parker survived the surgery and so did we. Here we are at Primary Children's Hospital.
My handsome little baby boy.
Our first family photo.
Here are a few pictures of my handsome little baby boy. I just can't believe how fast the time went.

Here are some pictures from Parker's birthday. The kids were so excited when they woke up. I had decorated the house and set out a lot of fun little knick-knacks on the table. They all had so much fun playing. It was really hard to get them to go to school. I had bought a treat for Parker to take to his class. Parker was a little confused when it was time to go to school. He thought that as soon as he turned five he would start going to Alissa's school. He was pretty disappointed when he found out that he still had to go to his school.
Parker's cake.
We went out to eat.
Parker opening his presents and Roger making a face.

Blowing out the candles.

I deleted my last post, because I am feeling much better about my job. I just have a hard time dealing with change.

Car Accident

We went to salt Lake for my niece, Kaylie's Birthday. Her birthday party was at Build a Bear. The kids loved it! They love their bears. That was the first time they had ever been to build a bear. I didn't get any good pictures of them holding their finished bears. Parker and Brinley were really tired and fussy by the time the party was over. Here's some pictures of the kids washing their bears.

Alissa hugging her finished bear. She named it Sparkles. Parker named his bear Parker and Brinley named her bear Brinley. I love my little ones! They are so cute!

A picture of everybody at the party. My niece Kaylie is on the left. Brinley is sitting in the front with her cousins, Kendra and Kalista. Parker didn't want to be in the picture. He was pretty fussy by this point, so he is sitting off to the side.

After the party we went to pick up Roger from his brother Tyler's house. We visited with Tyler and Melissa for a while. It was a lot of fun. We stayed a lot later than we had planned on. They offered to let us stay the night, but we refused because we didn't have anything with us for sleeping over. So we left. We stopped at Wendy's and got some chicken nuggets for me and the kids to eat on the way home. Roger ordered a sandwich. We sat in the Parking lot while Roger ate his food, then we went on our way. We didn't make it very far. We got in a car accident. I drew a picture to help explain what happened. We came to a stop light. It was red, so we were stopping. Before we came to a complete stop, the light turned green. So we started to go. there was a black truck on our left. It was a little bit in front of us. A car going the other direction decided to turn left in front of us. The truck saw it coming and was able to swerve out of the way. We did not see it (due to the truck being there) until the car was right in front of us. We didn't really have time to react before we crashed. It was really scary. Roger was driving. The kids were really scared. They had a hard time calming down. Uncle Tyler came and picked us up. the kids were scared to get in the car. Tyler promised them that he would drive really slowly. It was a rough night. We got in the accident at 9:45pm. Luckily I had our winter jackets in the van. It was really cold outside. Before we had left to salt Lake, I remembered that we should take our jackets in case of an emergency. Roger told me that we didn't need them. I insisted that we did and I grabbed them anyway. Roger said, "Fine! You can rub it in my face if we have to use them." I am doing a good job at rubbing it in that I was right. Anyway, so we are all ok I think. I have bruises from the seat belt and my neck really hurts. Parker woke up the next morning really sick. He had a fever and was throwing up. I took him to the doctor today and the doctor said that all of his symptoms could be caused by head trauma. They sent me to Ogden with him to get some pictures of his brain. we haven't heard anything about the results yet. If it was something bad, I'm sure we would have heard something by now. I hope that we don't find out anything bad. I love Tremonton when we are having a hard time, because you only have to tell one person and everybody will hear about it. After church, everybody had heard about it. We got a ton of phone calls on Sunday night we also had some visitors. People were very concerned. The relief society president brought us dinner on Sunday night. This morning my visiting teacher brought some doughnuts and juice over and tonight my friend brought over a plate of peanut butter bars. We are so blessed to have so many people that care about us. It has been rough, but knowing that there are so many people that care and are willing to help us how ever they can really helps to make me feel better.
Here is a scrapbook page that I made about our accident. I didn't take pictures of the accident. I was in a daze after it happened. I couldn't really think straight. I took pictures of the rental car (mini van) that we are driving.

Sorry for such a negative post last time. I have been really busy lately and I don't like it. I am a person who loves to be at home with family. I do not like to be busy or overwhelmed and I have been very busy and very overwhelmed lately. I am just not handling it very well. I do like blogging. I guess I was just having a bad day. I don't think I am going to use this blog for my weightloss. I might post some successes, but other than that, I will keep this as my family blog. I probably won't post very often, though.
We went to St. George over Easter. It was a lot of fun to see my family. We took the kids hiking for the first time. This is a picture of them ready to go hiking. We hiked Joe's Trail in Harrisburg. We stopped a lot to take pictures. The kids loved it. It was a little scary hiking with Parker, though. He was not afraid of anything. After we took this picture, Parker refused to come down the way we had went up. He wanted to climb down on the big rock. Roger was next to him, so he could catch him if he fell. I looked over just in time to see Parker falling face first into another rock. Roger reached over and grabbed Parker's face, before it hit the rock. It was such a close call.Walking with our cousins, Kaylie and Kendra, to go swimming.
Sitting in the chair with cousins, Kalista and Kendra. Decorating Easter eggs.

These pictures are from our second hike. We went to Redcliffs. This is a picture of the kids standing in a hollowed out tree.
A picture with our cousins, Ben and Kristin.

I always have to take pictures of the kids jumping from bed to bed at the hotel. It's fun to try and get good pictures of them while they are in the air.

Playing at the water park in St. George. I love this water park. It is a lot of fun.
Alissa had a bad fall. I didn't realize that I had snapped a picture right as she was falling.

Brinley was really funny. She sat in that same spot for most of the time we were there. She wouldn't move, even when all of the other kids went somewhere else to play. I don't know why she didn't move, but she seemed to be having fun.
