Labor Day - September 2, 2002

Monday - September 2, 2002
Alissa had her first bath today.  She is too cute!  I love her so much.
We had our friends Jamie and Kirk over to hang out today and my sister Kristy came for a visit.  Kristy's cute little daughter, Kaylie, is 3 months old.  It's so fun to be a mommy.  Here is the long video I took of me telling about when Alissa was born.

Alissa Has Arrived!

Alissa was born on August 13, 2002.  She weighed 6 lbs 3 ozs and was 19 inches long.  She is the most beautiful little girl in the whole world!  She has a head full of hair.  Her hair is so thick it is amazing to me.  She was born 5 weeks early.  Here's the story:
On Friday, August 9th, roger and I traveled to salt Lake to go to a Huffaker family reunion.  There was a barbecue, skits, and a lot of visiting and playing games.  After it was over, we went to Linda's house to spend the night.  I hardly got any sleep.  I was so uncomfortable.  roger and I got out of bed at around 7:30am.  I woke up feeling a little bit of pain in both of my sides.  I wasn't worried about it, I just assumed it was because we were in a different bed and I had such a hard time getting comfortable.  so we got ready for the day and headed to McDonalds for breakfast before going to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building to meet Roger's family and watch 'The Testament'.  By the time we got there the pain in my sides had spread to my back and stomach.  I was not very comfortable.  I thought that maybe something was not normal, so I asked Cindi (Roger's sister who is a Midwife) what she thought.  She told me that I could be having those pains from not sleeping well.  so, she pretty much just confirmed what I had been thinking.  By the time we sat down to watch the movie, the pain had grown and was becoming unbearable.  I asked Roger to take me back to Linda's house so that I could try and sleep and hopefully the pain would go away.  So, Roger took me to Linda's.  I tried to sleep while Roger headed back to the reunion.  They were having a picnic at a park.  I couldn't get to sleep and the pain continued to get worse.  I called Roger and asked him to come and take me to the hospital - I was sure that something was wrong.  We went to the Cottonwood Hospital.  They checked me out and ran some tests.  They said that I was not in labor and they couldn't find any reason for the pain I was having.  We were there for an hour, then they sent us home and told us to come back if the pain got worse.  It was not very long before the pain got worse and we were back at the hospital.  We spent the rest of the day at the hospital.  They did a ton of tests, trying to figure out what was wrong.  They even did an ultra sound and looked around trying to figure out what could be causing me so much pain.  They couldn't find anything.  Sometime in between 9:00 and 10:00pm they gave me some pain medicine and sent me home with instructions to go to the emergency room in Brigham City first thing in the morning.  While we were at the Cottonwood Hospital, Cindi and her kids came to visit.  Cindi decided to send Becca (Roger's 14 year old niece) home with us, so she could help take care of me.  She was very helpful and it was so nice to have her there with us.  I was in so much pain that I couldn't do anything.  Roger had to help me get dressed, go to the bathroom, get up and down, roll over in bed, and sometimes walk.  It was excruciatingly painful to move any muscle in my body.  It was miserable!
The next morning, Sunday, August 11th, we woke up and went to the Brigham City Hospital.  That was the day that Roger's mom was having her farewell.  I was supposed to be there and sing a song with Roger's sister, Caroline.  Jeanne ended up singing with her instead.
We ended up spending the whole day at the Brigham City Hospital.  They could not figure out what was wrong.  At the end of the day, they gave me the choice to go home and sleep in my bed or sleep there.  Of course, I chose to go home and sleep in my bad.  Dr. Wilding wanted us to come to his office first thing in the morning.  So we went home, slept, then went to his office first thing in the morning.  While we were in the waiting room, the pain was so unbearable.  I couldn't sit anymore, it hurt so bad.  I got up and walked over to Roger for some love and support.  Roger says that I walked toward him and pretty much collapsed into his arms.  It scared him so bad that he started yelling for help and demanded that they get me in a room right now.  Dr. Wilding could not figure out what was wrong.  He said he had never seen anything like this in the 30 years that he has been a doctor.  He knew something was seriously wrong, so he spent the morning trying to get an appointment for me to see a specialist in Ogden.  The doctor was booked and insisted that he couldn't see me.  Dr. Wilding wouldn't give up.  He fought to get me in there.  He knew that I was dying and something had to be done as soon as possible.  He got me an appointment with the specialist, Dr. Smithing, in Ogden at 2:00pm.  Dr. Smithing checked me out and said that he didn't know what was wrong with me, but I was too sick to go home, so he wanted Roger to drive me over to Mckay Dee Hospital and get me checked in.  Roger went out to get the car.  He drove out in front, then came inside to wheel me out to the car in a wheel chair.  When he went to open the car door, he realized that he had locked the keys in the car with the engine running.  Luckily I had a security system installed that made it possible to unlock the doors by calling a number.  It took us a while to remember the number.  But eventually we did.  We hurried over to Mckay Dee Hospital and got me checked in.
It was Monday afternoon when I got admitted to Mckay Dee.  Dr. Smithing called two other specialists to come and look at me also.  On Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at 11:00 am, the doctors came in and explained that they could not figure out what was wrong with me.  They kind of think it might be my appendix, but they really weren't sure.  They explained that if they were right and it was my appendix, they need to remove it right away.  They told me that they needed to do surgery right away and get the baby out and my appendix out. They were going to remove my appendix, even if it wasn't the problem.  then they would look around and try to figure out what the problem was.  So they quickly got me ready and rushed me into surgery.  I was so scared!  They were wheeling me down the hall and roger was following, but by the time we got to the operating room, Roger was gone.  The operating room looked so scary!  I was so nervous and was feeling especially upset that Roger wasn't there and they hadn't let me say "good-bye" to him.  After they got me on the operating table, roger came in.  I was so relieved to see him.  I was so scared because I had no idea what to expect.  Roger got to sit next to me and hold my hand the whole time.  I was shaking uncontrollably.  The shaking didn't stop until 3 hours after the surgery.  They gave me an epidural while they did the surgery, so I was awake the whole time.  It was so weird not being able to feel anything below my arms.  My arms were even getting a little numb.  It didn't take too long after they started for them too get Alissa out.  They held her up for Roger and I to see.  She was crying and kicking her arms and legs.  Then they rushed her off to the NICU.  It was so exciting to see her and I wished I could have held her, but they still had to take my appendix out and make sure Alissa was okay.  Roger could have watched the surgery, but he was afraid that he would pass out or something.  He looked every once in a while, but he didn't watch for very long.  Now roger can say that he had seen my insides.  He jokes that I am not beautiful on the inside.
It turns out that it was my appendix that was the problem.  The reason that it had been so hard for them to tell what was wrong with me was that my appendix was in an unusual spot.  It had been pushed to my back and was being bent from the pregnancy.  One of the ways that they were able to guess that it was my appendix was when they gave me the pain medication, it didn't eliminate the pain, it just localized the pain to my right side.  anyways, It turns out that my appendix had ruptured, but an abscess had grown around it and contained all of the poisons from spreading through my body.  After they delivered Alissa and started to take my appendix out, the abscess ruptured.  They removed it and had to spend a long time suctioning all of the poisons out of my body.  Roger was amazed at how much stuff they cleaned out of my system.  Alissa and I were very blessed.  Both of us could have died if things didn't work out the way they did.  After the surgery, it was very uncomfortable not being able to feel my legs,  I kept trying to move them, until I barely got my right toes to move slightly.  I was so excited when I could move my whole foot.  When they wheeled me out into the hall to take me to go see Alissa, and we passed all of my family and friends, I told everybody to look what I could do, and I pointed to my feet while I wiggled them back and forth.  Everybody thought that was funny.
I was still shaking pretty badly when they took me to see Alissa.  she was hooked up to a ton of machines and she was in an incubator.  I reached my hand in to touch her and tell her that I love her.  My voice was shaking just as much as my arms were.  roger said from the way alissa acted she knew that it was her mom talking to her.  He thought it was really cute. I had to stay in the hospital for one week and Alissa had to stay there for two weeks.  Alissa's lungs weren't fully developed.
The first week after she was born, it was hard for me to go and see her, because I was hooked up to the I.V. and my feet were swollen.  While I was in the hospital, I saw her once or twice a day.  After I got out of the hospital, I visited her twice a day.  It was the hardest thing for me to leave her at the hospital.  I cried so much.  It was really hard on Roger and I. My emotions were so out of control during that time.  I could not be alone.  I would have a panic attack every time I was left alone.  It was so crazy.  I called my parents and asked them to come and stay with me as much as they could.  My mom understood how I was feeling so they came the next day.  My mom helped me a lot.  She understands what I'm feeling and we cry about it together.
It was such a happy day when we finally got to bring her home. It was also a little scary, realizing that we are in charge of taking care of this precious human being.  That was overwhelming.

Meeting With The Lawyers - August 2, 2002

Friday - August 2nd
Roger and I went to Salt Lake today.  We saw the lawyers and worked out a payment plan.  We don't have to pay nearly as much as before.  Now all we owe is a little over $600.00.  Roger's mom called them before and told them what she thought of the whole situation.  so, they were afraid of us.  We could tell they were really nervous when we came in.  Anyway, I'm really glad that we got that all worked out and I'm really glad that Roger's mom has the knowledge she does about this stuff and that she was able to help us out.
WE went to Babies-R-Us today.  It was so fun!  We bought 3 outfits and a car seat.  I'm so excited for Alissa to be born.  I love all of the cute baby stuff that we are getting.  I can't wait to hold Alissa in my arms.  We need to go back to Salt Lake when we get more money and buy the stroller that goes with her car seat.
My legs, feet, hands, and arms have been really sore.  I don't know how to describe the pain, but it does not feel good.  They were hurting really bad last night when I was trying to sleep.  I was not sure what was causing the pain, but I think it is from over working myself.  I get tired and short of breath when I do a lot of things.  I usually try to work through it so I can get whatever I am doing done.  Today, I sat down and rested as soon as that feeling came on.  It was annoying because it took so much longer for me to get things done.  But it helped a lot.  I feel so much better tonight than I have in the past.  My hands, arms, legs, and feet aren't hurting tonight, just the regular baby kicking and lower abdomen pains.  So, that's good.

I Made a Successful Dinner - August 1, 2002

Thursday - August 1st
Roger and I slept regular hours last night.  It feels nice to be on a more normal sleeping schedule.  So, I've been cooking meals for Roger finally.  Cooking is something that I'm not used to doing.  I always planned on cooking meals for my husband but it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.  I've had a hard time trying to figure out how to be a good cook and to get all the right things when I go grocery shopping.  I'm finally starting to get the hang of things.  Tonight we ate Creamy chicken and Asparagus.  It turned out really well.
I have been having a lot of pains today.  Me feet are killing me.  They are just throbbing.  My feet and legs are the source of most of my pains today.  The other pains are lower abdomen pain every once in a while and the pain when the baby moves (she presses really hard against my stomach and insides).  After dinner, roger cleaned the table for me while I went and soaked in a nice warm bath.  He has been very good to me.  He's been doing his best to pamper and take care of me lately and I love it.  He is an amazing husband.  He has some friends (Tyson and some other guy) over right now and they are playing his new hockey game on the Playstation 2.  Roger really gets into his games (especially hockey).
Tomorrow we are going to Salt Lake City to meet with some lawyers and try to figure out a problem and make a payment plan for a mistake I made before Roger and I got married.  While Roger and I were dating, I lived with a friend from High school, Emily Evans.  We lived together for about 3 months.  I was nervous about moving in with her since we weren't that good of friends.  She really needed a roommate.  I couldn't afford something expensive, but she convinced me to move in anyway.  She told me that she would pay my first months rent and help me out with anything that I could not afford.  My mom told me that I should pray about it before I move in with her, but I chose to ignore my mom and Heavenly Father and just do what I wanted.  I needed a place to live and she needed a roommate, she said she'd help me afford it, I really couldn't see how this would be bad.  Emily was making a lot of money as an accountant for some company and working at Hooters for her second job, where she made a lot of money in tips.  Anyway, so, I didn't listen to anybody and just did what I wanted.
After 3 months of living with Emily, I still wasn't able to afford living there.  So, I asked if we could talk to the apartment managers about breaking the lease and moving out.  Emily didn't want to move out, but she didn't mind if I moved out.  She said she would find another roommate.  When I talked to the apartment managers about it, they said that they would not let me take my name off of the lease until Emily found another roommate.  Emily thought she already knew somebody who would move in, but she wasn't too worried because she could make the monthly payment on her own, without me.  So, I moved out, with the hopes that somebody would move in soon and take over my portion of the lease.  Emily ended up not being able to find a roommate.  She had said she could afford the rent by herself, but she couldn't.  Another friend moved in with her for a little bit, but they said it wasn't permanent, so she wouldn't put her name on the lease.  Emily started to get really mean and crazy when I tried to talk to her about things.  Her and her friend would yell and swear at me.  They said that it was all my fault that Emily was having a hard time.  Then Emily lost her job and she became even angrier.  She said she was going to sue me.  I'm not sure what for, but I was scared of her.  I hoped she wouldn't come after me for anything.  She really turned out to be a monster.
After she lost her job, she could have talked to the managers about breaking the lease, but she didn't instead, she chose to live there and not pay rent until they kicked her out.  They gave her a date that she had to be out by, but she refused to leave.  They said they would charge her $80 each additional day that she was there after her move out date.  She still refused to leave.  She was there for a month and a half after the move out date.  Somehow, they finally got her to move out.  Being kicked out costs a lot more than working with the apartments to break your lease and do things the nice way.
Since my name was on the lease, I have to pay also.  I don't know how it all worked.  I'm not sure if the apartments sewed us or what.  But they have a lawyer that is coming after me to pay my share of all the money (that Emily Racked up) owed to the apartment complex.  We have been making payments to them.  We called at one time to figure out how much I owe and they said I owed $1400.00.  Last week they sent a garnishment to our bank demanding $1700.00 and something.  We called them to find out what was going on and they said that Emily filed for Bankruptcy, so now I have to pay her portion also.  I am so frustrated with all of this!  I really wish I would have used better judgement and listened to my mom about praying before I moved in with someone I didn't know that well.  If I had known what a monster she could be, I would have stayed away for sure.
Roger's mom thinks that they are just making up charges for us to pay.  We are all going to meet with the lawyers tomorrow.  I really hope that we can figure everything out and get the costs down.  We really can't afford all of this right now.  I feel really bad that Roger is the one who is having to pay for my mistake.

Linda's Birthday - July 31, 2002

Wednesday - July 31st
It's not Linda's birthday today, but I called her (thinking that it was her birthday).  When she answered, I said, "Happy Birthday!" Then I went on and on about how happy I was that I got to tell her happy birthday on her actual birthday because I thought she would have been up the North Fork where there is no phone reception, so I wouldn't have been able to reach her.  When I stopped talking she said, "Well..... That would have been true, had you called yesterday."  We laughed for a really long time about that.  I felt bad for not remembering what day her birthday was.  But, at least we got a good laugh out of it.
I went to the doctor today.  Our little Alissa is doing great.  Roger got to press against my tummy and feel Alissa's head.  We are so excited for her to be born!
I can't remember what day we took this picture.  I just know it was taken this month.

Montana 2002

Tuesday - July 23rd
I went to Montana with out Roger this year since he had to work.  I just couldn't bear the thought of not going this year.  I've gone every year of my life.  It would feel so wrong not to go.  I really, really missed Roger while I was gone.  It was weird to be without him for so long.
It was a fun trip.  I had fun spending so much time with my family.  Here are the pictures and links to the videos that I took each day of our trip. Videos from day 1videos from day 2videos from day 3.
My handsome nephew, Damen.
Grandma Mathison holding my new niece, Kaylie while we visit in the living room.
Ben and Alex needed hair cuts, so Grandpa turned on the generator and set up a little hair cutting station.  Neither of them seemed very happy about that.
Playing in the creek.  I sat in a chair and took videos of all the playing in the creek fun.

Kari was showing us how to gut a fish.
 Four-wheeling around.
I never get pictures of me, so I decided to turn the camera around for a second.
 Little baby Kaylie

 My mom and Kaylie
We spent Dad's birthday in town.  Kristy and Kari were both able to get 5-generation pictures.  I was feeling super jealous that I didn't have my little baby with me, so I get get a picture also.
Ben and Alex noticed the camera, then all the kids gathered around to get in the video.
Lighting the candles and singing happy birthday.

Ben and Alex kept trying to blow out the candles.  Ben was able to blow a few of them out before the song was over, so we had to relight them.  It was kind of funny.  I think those boys are too cute.

Missy Got Hit by a Car - June 5, 2002

Wednesday - June 5th
We had a nice relaxing vacation at my parent's place.  But, it didn't start out relaxing.  When we were pulling in, my dad came out and told us that they just got a phone call that Missy had been hit by a car.  I was so upset and sick to my stomach when I heard that.  I worry so much about Missy.  I really wish she was still living with my parents.  I wish that she did not make the choices that she did.  Anyway, Marty was the one who called my parents and he didn't give them any details.  He told them that he would call as soon as he knew more, but he never called.  As soon as mom got off the phone with him, she started calling my other sisters to see if one of them could go and check on her and find out what was happening.  Linda was on her way to work, but she called and told them she would be coming in late, so she could check on Missy. It took Linda about an hour to get there, so we sat there worrying for an hour and a half until Linda called.  My mom called and talked to Marty one more time before Linda called, but he still didn't give us very much information.  We were worried sick not knowing anything.  Linda told us that Marty had told Missy that her parents were acting like they didn't care and weren't worried at all.  Rude!
So, here is what happened:  A lady was driving and she got sick.  She pulled over and threw up.  she got back in the car and started driving.  Then she passed out and swerved off the road and hit Missy.  She came too and realized that she had hit something, so she drove back to see what she had hit.  When she went back to see, the police were already there and witnesses pointed at her and told them that she was the one who did the hit and run.  she was so upset and hysterical when she realized what had happened.
Now here is what happened with Missy:  Missy was walking to work (on the sidewalk).  She looked up and saw a car swerving off the road towards her.  She wasn't sure which way the car was going to go, so she didn't know which way to run. It looked like the car was coming right for her.  Like it was purposely trying to run her over.  She just turned around and started running.  She took 2 or 3 steps and next thing she knew, she was flying through the air.  she landed on her stomach and bounced and skidded along for a little ways in the grass.  She said, after she quit moving, her first instinct was to get up and run.  She tried to get up and couldn't.  She was afraid the car was coming after her and going to try and hit her again.  When she realized she couldn't get up, she saw a lady running toward her.  Missy just looked up at the lady and said, "Help. Help."
Missy ended up with a broken ankle and lots of scratches and bruises.  She is now very afraid to walk anywhere, for fear of being hit by a car.  The lady that hit her is also very upset said she never wants to drive again.
I took a video of Missy showing her ouchies and telling us about her experience.  Here it is.
Here she is telling us what happened.
Here are some of her ouchies.  She has a cut on her forehead, scratches on both legs, really bad bruising on the leg with the broken ankle, and a cut on her elbow.  It looks painful.
Elizabeth was excited about the new goggles they had just gotten.
The rest of our trip was nice and relaxing.  Roger got to ride the 4-wheeler a lot and he really liked that.  Here are the pictures and the video from our St. George trip.

We got home an Saturday, June 1st.  roger dropped me off at Linda's while he came home and went to work.  Roger's mom and sisters threw a baby shower for Melissa and I in salt Lake.  That was a lot of fun.  Baby showers are great!

We're Going to St. George - May 27, 2002

Monday - May 27th
We are going to go to St. George tomorrow.  We had a very relaxing day.  We both slept until 1:30pm, then we just sat around and relaxed until Roger had to go to work.  After Roger left, I went over to Carol's (her husband works with Roger) and we laid out in the sun, read books, and talked.  She is just starting to read 'The Work and The Glory' series.  I'm on volume 9, but I decided to read something else.  I was in the mood for bear attack stories, so I read 'Death in Yellowstone'.  I came home from Carol's around 8:00pm because I needed to get somethings done before Roger and I leave tomorrow.  I started the laundry, ate some dinner, got in the shower, did my hair, then started packing.  Now I need to go to do the dishes and go to bed.
Roger called me around 9:00pm tonight.  One of the machines broke down and they couldn't fix it.  they weren't able to do any work because of the machine.  He said that if they couldn't get the machine fixed soon, they were going to send people home, so he might come home early.  He hasn't come home yet, so I'm guessing they got the machine fixed.  We plan to sleep until noon tomorrow, then wake up and go to my parent's house.

Hanging Out With Missy and Marty - May 26, 2002

Sunday - May 26th
I ended up sleeping all day with Roger.  The alarm clock didn't go off.  I slept until 2:00pm.  I didn't sleep at all last night, that's why I was able to sleep all day.  Roger is going to try and get on a new shift so he won't be working graveyards anymore.  He is trying to get on the wed, thurs, friday day shift.  If he gets on that shift he will work from 5:00am to 5:00pm.  I really hope he gets on that shift before we move into Caroline and Scott's four-plex.  I feel nervous about being home alone there when he works graveyards.  Nights aren't so scary here, because this is a shared house.  I know that if there was a problem, the Griffins are right upstairs and will help.
Missy and Marty came over tonight.  They just moved to Layton and they don't know anybody around there, so they were bored and decided to visit.  They haven't seen where I live before.  We played cards and watched movies.  They left around 1:00am.

Roger's Birthday! - May 25, 2002

Saturday - May 25th
It's Roger's birthday!  We went to Salt Lake yesterday for Roger's birthday.  I planned a little surprise party for him with his friends.  So, we spent Friday night celebrating his birthday with his friends and today we celebrated with his family.
So, on Friday, we slept in, then woke up and packed our stuff to go to Salt Lake.  We stopped and visited with roger's mom until about 6:30, then we met Spencer and Somer at 7:00 and went to eat at Lita's Pizza.  That's where all the friends were waiting to surprise Roger.  Jamie and Kirk were late.  I had asked them to bring a Chocolate Satin Pie from Marie Calanders (Roger's favorite pie) to surprise roger.  Tyson was also late.  He witnessed a car accident on the way and had to fill out a police report.  He was stopped at a red light.  When the light turned green, he had a feeling not to go.  The car next to him went and he started to go, but the spirit told him to stop.  He stopped.  Just then a car ran the red light and smashed into the car that had been next to him and had gone when the light turned green. If he hadn't listened to the spirit and stopped, he would have been the one who got hit.
Besides Tyson's near accident on the way to the party, everything went great.  Roger kind of expected that his friends would be there, so he wasn't too surprised about that, but he was surprised that Jamie and Kirk and Tyson came.  He was also surprised by the pie they brought.  I really wanted roger to have a fun birthday.  He made my birthday so fun and special. I really wanted to return the favor.  After dinner, we went to a movie ('Spiderman') with his friends.  Then we went to his mom's house to sleep.  Here are the pictures and video I took while we were at Lita's Pizza.
We woke up around 7:00am to start helping his mom move her things out.  She sold her house and has to be out by May 31st (I think).  She is going to go on a mission.  She got called to serve in the Manchester, England mission.  She leaves for the MTC in August.  We are sad that she won't be here to see Alissa when she is born, but we are also very happy for her.  Anyway, all of the family came to help her move today.  Everybody worked hard all morning, then at noon, we had a barbecue (hot dogs, potato chips, and drinks).  After lunch, I brought out a cake that I had made for Roger. and we sang 'Happy Birthday'.  Roger blew out the candles then we ate cake and pie.  After that, Roger and I had to leave.  We had to be back so roger could go to work tonight.  He is the best husband.  I love him so much.  I'm so glad we get to spend eternity together.  Here are the pictures and video I took today.

 Here is my pregnant belly.
And here is my handsome husband.

Brittany Peed on Me - May 23, 2002

Thursday - May 23rd
We ended up not going to visit my parents like we had planned.  We couldn't sleep, so we thought it would not be safe for us to be driving so tired.  We decided not to go.  We are going to try and go this next week on Tuesday.  We relaxed at home on Wednesday.  The baby was kicking!  She has started to kick a lot harder.  I've been waiting for her to kick hard enough that Roger can feel too.  She finally started.  I put my hand on my stomach and I saw and felt it move.  I wish Roger was her to feel it.  He's at work.  He works the graveyard shift.
I went to a Dr. appointment today.  The doctor said that everything looks good with the baby.  I had the doctor freeze the wart on my finger again.  I hope it will die this time.  I also had him put some acid stuff on my warts on my feet.  When I took the Band-aids off, I noticed that a big chunk of the wart on my toe had been killed.  It's gone!  I was really happy that the acid he put on it is really working.  Warts are really yucky.  I really wish I never had any.
After the doctors appointment, we went to visit Caroline.  We ended up staying for only a short while because Brittany went potty on my leg.  We were sitting at the table eating and she was sitting on my lap.  She just couldn't hold it.  She felt bad and was really embarrassed that that had happened.  It was pretty funny.  I let her know that I was not mad and she warmed up to me again.  After that, we came home and I washed laundry while Roger played the Sims game (it is so addicting).

Young Women's Activity - May 21, 2002

Tuesday - May 21st
Roger and I just got home from Walmart.  We went to buy Roger's birthday present.  He got a Sims Expansion Pack (a computer game).  We also ended up buying some granola bars (travel food for tomorrow).
Tonight Roger and I got to talk to the Young Women about the importance of Temple marriage.  They asked us to bring things about our wedding day.  I took my wedding dress and a wedding photo album.  We had a lot of fun talking about our wedding.  I made Roger do most of the talking.  He is very smart and is great at knowing what to say and teaching,  I hope that we made a good impression on the Young Women.  I hope we helped them to realize the importance of temple marriage.    Now that we are done talking to them, a lot of things have come to my mind that I wish I would have said to them.  I had a lot of fun at the activity tonight.  I'm finally getting to know the young women better and feel a lot better about my calling.  I've been the secretary in young womens for about 2 months now.  I'm really happy to have a calling.
Tomorrow, Roger and I are going to visit my parents at their new property by Brian Head Ski Resort.  We are going to stay until Friday.  Then we will come home to celebrate Roger's birthday with his friends.  I've been trying to put together a surprise party for him.  I'm really hoping that his friends will show up and everything will turn out okay.  I really want him to have a good birthday.  I need to go to bed now.  We are going to wake up early for our trip to see my parents.

We're Having A Girl! - May 9, 2002

Thursday - May 9th
We go to find out the sex of our little baby today.  We are having a little girl.  ( We already knew we were from our experience in the temple).  We are so excited for our little Alissa to be born!  She was so cute in her ultra sound.  We could see her face.  She had her hand by her mouth and she was moving her mouth.  It was very cute and exciting to see.
