Today was the school walk-a-thon. Last year, they had Mckinley and North Park compete and do the walk-a-thon together. This year, it was just North Park. They had everyone who wanted to participate meet over at the high school track. Alissa is in middle school this year, so she didn't have to go walk around the track. She didn't know what to do with herself. She didn't like to just sit and watch, so she went and joined in all the fun with Parker and Brinley. After they walked a few laps, they had everybody take a break to play some games. They had everybody with birthdays in January through April, come and play. Then they had them walk some more laps, then the next group played a game. This group was Parker's group. They played a ring toss game. Parker didn't win, but he had fun and they gave everybody a prize. They had everybody walk again, then they had the next group. Alissa got to be in this group. They contest they did was hula hooping. Alissa loves to hula hoop, so she was very happy that this was her contest. Alissa ended up winning! She beat everybody. She had practiced in the summer time so she could compete in the hula hoop contest at Tremonton City days, so she had a little bit of an advantage over the other kids. She won a t-shirt. All the kids got water bottles and small prizes. By the time, they got to Brinley's group, most people had left, so they decided to call it quits and just give the kids in her group some of the prizes. So, Brinley got her prize and we headed home.
