Saturday - April 4th
Roger's friend, Dan Sorenson and his little family came to spend Easter with us. They didn't get here until close 5:00pm. While we waited we made some candy melt suckers and decorated our Easter eggs.
Parker ended up falling asleep before the chocolate was melted. I tried to wake him up so he could help make them, but he didn't want to get up.
Parker woke up in time to enjoy the finished products. Roger was playing World of War Craft while we were making the suckers. When we finished, Alissa sat down next to roger, so he could teach her a little more about the game. She's played it before, but it's been a long time since she has played. She needed a refresher course.
Every year, it seems like the kids are so frustrated because I didn't make enough eggs for them to decorate. So, this year, I made a lot. I bought these super cool egg holders with paint to make it easier. Here's Brinley's first egg.
The kids had fun decorating their eggs, but they tired of the decorating really fast. The year I finally made them a lot of eggs, is the year, they poop out after only a few. Crazy kids!
After Dan and his family got here, the kids went outside to play, while Roger was out back making the barbecue. Brinley and Parker had a lot of fun playing with Benji.
The Sorensons brought lots of meat with them. We ended up having a ton of food! It was really yummy. After eating and relaxing for a while, Roger and Dan went to see if they could get a room at the Hampton Inn for Dan and family. Dan's wife, Andrea is pregnant. They usually spend the night here, but she was worried about keeping us awake with her constant trips to the bathroom and with how much Benji wakes up in the night, so they thought they'd be more comfortable at a hotel. Roger and Dan came back to let us know that they got a hotel room and they found out that the pool is open 24/7. So, we all got our swimsuits on and went swimming at the hotel. Roger took a picture of us in the truck while we were waiting for them to meet us at the pool.
There were a lot of fun bouncy balls in the pool. We had so much fun playing games with them. We played monkey in the middle, dodge ball, and we just threw the balls at each other. We just had a ton of fun. We were laughing so hard.
We were really tired by the time we got home. The kids went straight to bed afterward and they fell asleep really quickly.
