Halloween 2017

Tuesday - October 31st

It was a busy day for me.  I woke up thinking that I was going to get the kids to school, go to the gym, clean the kitchen and vacuum, then relax and crochet for a little bit before all the Halloween fun started.  But, I was wrong!  I got a message from a friend asking me about the Halloween party for Brinley's class.  I'm a room mom in her class and their party was today at 1:45pm.  We had discussed decorating sugar cookies, but when we had that discussion, I thought we were talking about the fall carnival (which we already had).  I did the photo booth for the fall carnival, so I just figured that she changed her mind about the sugar cookies.  I don't know why I hadn't realized we were talking about the class Halloween party.  So, I was surprised to realize that we were in charge of the party and we needed to get on it, since the party was coming fast.
I got the kids off to school and got right to work.  The kitchen was a disaster, since I didn't clean it at all last night (because I thought I'd have lots of time in the morning to get it done).  There were a ton of dishes to wash and get out of the way, so I'd have room to make my cookies.  I got the kitchen clean and started on the cookies.  My partner room mom, Shari, went to the store and picked up the things we'd need to decorate them and a few ingredients I needed to make the icing.  I worked hard, but not quite fast enough.  I was about 10 minutes late to the party.  But that's okay.  It all worked out.  It was just super stressful trying to get everything done in time.  The party was a success!  The kids had fun!  Here are a few pictures of Brinley's class and 2 pictures I made her take with me.  She hid behind me in the first one I took.  She is really funny and really good at making funny faces right as I snap the picture.
The top picture is Brinley with her whole class.  She is, of course, making a funny face.
The kids got home from school and got dressed in their costumes.  Parker decided to be a minion,  Brinley decided to be a boy, and Alissa had an idea that didn't work out, so she can't decide what she is.  She said burn victim at first, then decided zombie, then a neighbor said she looked like road kill.  She just couldn't decide what to call herself.
We drove the kids to Kristy Spencer's(the color guard coach) house.  She said she'd give lots of candy to anybody who came, since nobody trick-or-treats to her house.  Then we stopped at Tonya's, because she also said nobody comes.  After that, we dropped Alissa off at Erin's house so she could hang out with her friends on Halloween.
Parker and Brinley were excited to get home and go trick-or-treating with Khloe and her brother Korver.

Parker and Brinley went trick-or-treating to a few houses while they waited for their friends to get here, then they came back and chillaxed with Roger and I.  I made some yummy Taco soup.  I always forget to make dinner on Halloween.  I get so caught up in all the trick-or-treating fun, and I just forget.  I'm usually busy helping kids get ready, then I go out with them.  I don't even think about dinner until we got home, but by then, I'm too tired and full of candy, so we just skip dinner.  It's not a wonderful way to do things, but that's just how it always happens.  So, this is the first year in a really long time that I remembered to make dinner.  Go me!
Dinner was yummy!  Parker and Brinley's friends came and they went out trick-or-treating.  Roger and I had been planning to sit out by the fire in the front yard, but it was windy when all the trick-or-treating fun started.  So, we decided to wait and see if the wind calmed down.  Eventually, it did, so we got to have out fire!  I love sitting out by the fire.  This was a good night for it too.  It was cold, but not too cold.  The neighbor next door was dressed up like a creepy clown and he was walking the street, scaring people.  It was fun to sit out and watch.  2 boys came to our house and as I was giving them candy, they were looking toward the clown.  They told me they aren't scared of much, but clowns freak them out a lot.  They were so nervous to get past the clown.  They snuck across the street and hid behind a truck.  The clown saw them and eventually went walking toward them to surprise them behind the truck.  When the boys saw him, they panicked and the both took off running in opposite directions.  One kids turned and yelled to the other as he ran, "You went the wrong way!"  They were both terrified and kept on running.  It was really funny to watch.
Roger and I listened to an episode of 'Lore' while we were out here.  We had to keep stopping it when trick-or-treaters came or when Parker and Brinley came home and they would come out to talk to us.  It took a long time to get through one episode.
They had a lot of fun trick-or-treating, and, as always, they got a ton of candy on Century Drive.  That is the best street on Halloween.  We love it.  I took a video of the kiddos showing me all the yummy treats that they got.

After going through their candy, the kiddos came out to sit by the fire.  But, they thought that was boring, so Brinley asked if we could put the spot light on the trampoline so they could jump.  Brinley and Khloe got tired of that really quickly, so they went inside to play.  The boys stayed out and kept jumping.  Roger saw the clown walking by and he asked him to go in the backyard to scare the boys.  It was funny.  I tried to get the camera going to record it, but I didn't get the recording started in time.  I was a little bummed about that.
Here is the videos that I took today.

Color Guard - September 9, 2017

Saturday - September 9th

Alissa had to wake up early again today.  She was so sad to not get to sleep in on her Saturday, but she was okay with it, because it was for Color Guard.  She loves Color Guard.  The Color Guard met at the school and rode in buses with the band, so they could march in the Peach Days Parade in Brigham City.  They were a little worried about how things would go.  Apparently, they have had problems in the past with people booing at them.  The Box Elder Bees (the high school in Brigham City) are their rivals.  I learned that, that is the reason the Bees don't march in the Fair Parade anymore.  Too many people were rude and Booed at them.  I think that is really sad.  Anyway, Alissa was worried about what it was going to be like, because their coach warned them that they had problems in the past.  Luckily, they didn't have any problems.  Today went really well.  We didn't get to go and see her at the parade, but her coach took these pictures and shared them.

Parker was chillaxin' with Forest and wanted me to take their picture.

Alissa's Birthday Gift - September 8, 2017

Friday - September 8th

Alissa ordered a shirt for her birthday.  It is a shirt with some reference to a YouTuber she watches.  She was so excited to be getting her shirt, but it took almost a month to get here and she was getting impatient and worried it wouldn't come.  When Roger checked the mail today, her shirt was in there.  He threw the package out of the mail box and into the road and said, "What is this crap doing in here?"  Alissa and I both looked at it, confused.  Then we realized what it was.  Alissa was so excited, she ran to get it, but Roger picked it up again before she could grab it.  Then he started running away with it.  It was really funny, because he was making funny noises and running in a really weird way.  He so goofy!  I love it!  Anyway, Alissa chased after him trying to get it.  I was laughing so much.  Then I realized, this is funny, I should be recording this.  I pulled out my phone, got it to the camera and tried to hit the record button, but somehow I kept missing it.  It's because I was still trying to watch them while I started to record.  I finally got the camera recording right as Alissa got her shirt from him.  So, I recorded her opening it.  She is so happy to finally have her shirt.  She loves it!  She keeps pointing out that it feels like a lot better quality than any sweatshirt she's had before.  She'a really happy about that.  She also, discovered that the front pocket is big enough to hold her tablet.  It looks funny when she has her tablet in there, but it fits.

The Train - September 7, 2017

Thursday - September 7th

We needed to get Forest tired.  He was being a stinker, because he had too much energy, so Alissa and I decided to take him for a walk.  Parker said that he wanted to go with, but was going to ride his bike.  When I let Brinley know we were going, she said she wanted to come also.  Then I went to tell Roger we were all going and he decided he would come too.  He was finishing something up on the computer, so we waited outside for him for a little while.  Alissa is getting really good with her singing and Ukulele playing, so she was outside playing a song.  She had decided she was going to take it on the walk with us.  I loved the idea of having someone provide the music for our walk, so of course, I said yes.  While we were waiting, she noticed her flag sitting in the garage and remembered she is marching in a parade on Saturday, so she decided to take the flag instead.  That way she could practice.  Brinley and I were bummed not to have her music on our walk, but liked the idea of feeling like we are in our own parade.  Brinley carried the ukulele and pretended to play it.  I put Alissa's parade music on my phone and that was the music we listened to.  Roger finally came outside and we headed on our walk.  It was fun having the music and Alissa doing her routine.  At one point, on the way back, a little girl, standing in her doorway, got so excited as we passed.  She ran in and told her parents to come and see.  It was funny to have an audience for a little bit.
We like to walk on a road that is next to the train tracks.  Roger is always saying he wishes we could be there when a train is passing.  But we always miss it.  I took Forest on a walk by myself one day and the train came while I was out.  But, it hasn't come when Roger's been there.  But today, was our day!  The train passed while we were there!  It's not super exciting, but it's still fun.  We waved as the train went by and the train driver honked his horn and waved back.  It was fun.

Chillaxin' By the Fire - September 3, 2017

Sunday - September 3rd

We are really enjoying our long weekend.  It feels so nice to have a break.  Life has been so crazy and busy all summer.  I am relieved to finally have a chance to relax.  I felt bad, because we usually have more chances to sit out by the fire during the summer.  I've been wanting to sit outside and have a fire for a really long time.  We just haven't been able to, because I was always too tired to stay up late, since I had to get up so early in the morning for work.  So, today, we finally got to sit out by the fire!  I was very happy about that.  I am still feeling tired and overwhelmed from how this summer has gone, so I'm sure I didn't do a good job at showing that I was excited, but I was.  It's just hard for life to get back to normal and feel normal again.  I don't like it.  I'm really hoping things can start feeling better soon.
We had sparklers left over from the 4th of July.  We had bought a really big pack of them.  We had a lot of fun playing with the sparklers tonight.  The first part of this video, is a slideshow with pictures and video clips from our night all set to music.  Google photos has the fun options to create that.  After that, it is the video I took from the night.

Earthquake - September 2, 2017

Saturday - September 2nd

Earlier today, we got to experience an earthquake.  It was pretty exciting.  We were excited to have felt it and got to experience it, since it wasn't too big and scary.  The center of the earthquake was in Idaho, near Lava Hot Springs.  The earthquake happened there at 5:56pm (actually, they had a smaller one at 5:55pm, then the biggest one at 5:56pm, and plenty of after shocks that we did not feel) and we felt it here at 5:57pm.  We know what time we felt it, because we looked back on our security video in the kitchen to see if we could see anything moving.  You can barely tell, but the fan moves and the video cut out for a second.
I was downstairs looking for something in the closet when the house shook and made a creaking sound.  I all of the sudden felt really dizzy.  As I stood there feeling like I was going to fall over, I grabbed the door to steady myself and tried to decide if I had just imagined that or if it had really happened.  I quickly realized it had to have happened, why else would I all of the sudden feel motion sick.  Then I remembered the chandelier in the room.  I looked up at it and it was swaying back and forth.  The house definitely had shook.  I went to the family room to ask the kids if they felt that.  Alissa and Parker had been laying on the couch watching TV.  Parker thought Alissa had shook the couch.  Alissa thought she had just imagined it.  Brinley had come down right as I got in the family room.  She had been upstairs sitting on the toilet when it happened.  She said she felt it.  It almost shook her off the toilet.  She was scared, because she didn't know what had happened.  She got out of there as fast as she could to see what was going on.  We were all excited that we got to experience an earthquake and it was scary or really bad.  Brinley was really nervous after that, when Alissa mentioned after shocks.  I think it is funny that Brinley was on the toilet.  she's embarrassed about it, so she is going to leave that part out of the story when she tells her friends.  She's funny.

Football Game - September 1, 2017

Friday - September 1st

Alissa got to perform at her first football game.  This was also the first football game she ever attended, so that's fun.  Their costumes were 80's clothes.  So, we did Alissa's hair all 80's.  She looks really cute.

They performed the school song at the beginning, then did a routine during half time.  I forgot to bring cash, so we didn't get in and sat down in time to watch them perform them school song.  Brinley and I were standing outside the gates and the color guard had their backs to us, so we got to see their performance standing behind them and through a gate.  I felt bad for not being prepared.  We had to go back to the truck and get some money so we could get in and be there for half time.  Brinley and I went to Kents and bought us each some candy, so we could get cash back and watch the game.  It was a bummer coming late, because we had a hard time finding a place to sit.  We found seats and were able to record her performance.  I hadn't realized that Brinley had been recording most of what had been happening.  She's funny.  She kept recording while we were getting to the game and dealing with the needing cash situation.  I will get those videos uploaded eventually.  They are on the other phone.  Here's 3 videos that Brinley took of the performances.  She recorded all of the groups that performed and then the battery died on the phone she was using, so she didn't record the color guard performing.  But I recorded that, so we're good.  I had brought my good camera, so I could zoom in and get some good pictures of Alissa, but when I pulled it out, I realized the battery was dead.  I was bummed about that.

It looks like she got part of the color guard performance recorded before the phone died.
Their coach took some pictures of them before the performance.  They changed costumes after they performed the school song.

After the game, we came home and chillaxed.

Alissa's Birthday - August 13, 2017

Sunday - August 13th

Alissa turned 15 years old today. It's crazy how fast she is growing up. We had a nice relaxing day at home today. I started up late last night, decorating the house. I like to have the house decorated, so it makes the whole day feel like a party. I was watching a show while I decorated and I think it allowed me down a little. I didn't end up going to bed until 3am.
I slept in until 9am. That was nice. All the kids were awake when I climbed out of bed. I have Alissa a hug and told her happy birthday, then I got ready for the day. After that, I got busy making birthday cakes and icing. We all decided to decorate our own cakes. It was fun. I recorded it so, so I can make a time lapse video.

Grandma came over, we talked while kids played video games. Then we sang Happy birthday, and are out cake and ice cream. Roger's mom headed home shortly after that. She called right after she left, to tell Roger the mountain by us is on fire.
Alissa, Roger, forest, and I walked to see it. It wasn't too exciting, but it was a nice walk. After that we came home and relaxed.

I took a lot more videos than I did pictures.
I'm struggling to stay awake right now. I'm so so very tired.
Grandma Mathison is really not doing well. She is going to pass away soon. I'm so sad to not have her here anymore, but I know she will be super Happy to be reunited with friends and family on the other side.
I know this is a weird way to end this post, but that's what happens when your brain is too tired.

Lazy Days - August 8-9, 2017

Tuesday and Wednesday - August 8th and 9th

I traded shifts with Amanda, because she needed Friday off, so I had Tuesday off. I thought that would be good, because I have a lot of cleaning to do downstairs, so I can get the kiln going. The sooner I get the kiln going, the sooner I get to start my business. I had planned to get a lot done. But it didn't work that way. I was so tired all day. I kept trying to get myself going, but I just couldn't. I finally gave up and decided to just enjoy a lazy day. I used my time chillin' at the computer and blogging. It's been a long time since I've done that.  It was nice. I'm really enjoying the new Google photo. It is so nice! It saves all of my pictures and videos for free. I love it. It also, makes it super easy to make a collage of my photos. Since I'm too busy to do any scrapbooking, this is really nice.

I really enjoyed my day off, but I told myself I'd be super motivated and get a lot accomplished today to make up for yesterday. I started the day or strong. I woke up at 3:00am, exercised, showered, drank a breakfast drink, and headed to work. I finished my work quickly and got home around 11:30am. It was hard to keep moving after I got home. Alissa wanted to show me her color guard routine, so I watched her do that, then I ate some food, and laid down for a nap. The nap helped. I got up and started working down stairs. I didn't get very much done, when Alissa came asking if I could go pick up her friend, Erin. I quit what I was doing, to go and get her. Then I came home, had Roger look over the paperwork that I need to turn in to get my city business license. Roger and I took it to the city building to turn it in. Now, we have to wait for it to be approved. After that, Roger suggested we go get food. We went to the Mexican restaurant. It was good. Since we've been home from that, I can't get myself motivated to do anything. It's super frustrating. There is so much to do, but I have no energy to do it.
Alissa is loving the color guard.  It is a lot of work.  She practices a lot and is doing really well.  She is getting a lot of exercise and it is causing her to lose weight.  She keeps pointing it out to me.  Today she showed me her stomach.  She has always wanted a flat stomach and she is finally getting one.  I'm happy for her to be able to see that and feel good about herself.  I've always thought she is a beautiful girl, but it is hard to see that in yourself.  I love my kiddos so much and I think they are all so amazing.  I love to see them succeed and feel good about themselves.

Parker went to his Young Men's activity last night.  I always forget about activity night.  The young men decided to surprise Parker and just come and pick him up.  He was happy to go with them.  When he opened the door, the first thing the leader, Brother Corbett, said to him was, "Parker.  You are my hero!  You are so awesome!  I've been waiting to see you so I could tell you how awesome I think you are!  I watched that video of you eating those fish eyes.  You are the man!"  Parker loves hearing that compliment.  I think it made his day.  So Parker told them about the fish eyes and some of our Montana fun as they headed out the door.  Parker was happy to go and he had a lot of fun at the activity.

On Monday night, Brinley's friend, Khloe slept over. They had fun. These are the pictures and videos they took.  They are funny girls.  I really need to get my selfie stick fixed.  I think the selfie videos are a lot better with a selfie stick.  I think I will just tape it together, so next time the video wont be so shaky.
They decided to walk to the dollar store.  They started walking, but a storm was coming and it scared them, so they turned around and came back.  Roger drove them to the dollar store, so they didn't have to worry about the storm.
Khloe stayed until 5 ish on Tuesday. They were just having too much fun.
The reason they went to the Dollar store, was to buy some glue so they could make slime.  The dollar store didn't have glue.  They were really bummed.  They thought of another way to make slime.  I'm not sure how they did it, but I think the slime they made looks cool.  Brinley was making it into a bubble and it would grow and move around a little after she made it.  It looked really cool.
Today, Brinley is having another sleep over. This time with her friend, Ashlea. I don't usually show sleepovers when I have you work the next day, but I made an exception, because we had planned for her to sleepover this week on my day off and it didn't happen. Since my day off changed and Khloe came over. So Ashlea will sleep over tonight instead. Brinley and Ashlea we're pretty happy about that.

Forest has been really good at being outside, off his leash, and starting next to us. I love that. It's nice to not have to worry about him running away.
On Monday, my sister Kristy, sent me a message asking if I would come on a spur of the moment Montana trip with her. She said she feels really strongly that she needs to go and see grandma as soon as possible.  This week really wouldn't work for me.  I asked her if she could wait until next week.  She responded no.  She said she has a feeling that next week will be too late.  I really didn't like hearing that and I definitely hope she is wrong.  Anyway, about 2 to 3 hours after messaging with Kristy, I got a phone call from my uncle Johnny.  He was calling to let me know that grandma is in the hospital.  He took her to the emergency room yesterday morning.  She has been feeling really miserable for a while now.  I've been getting updates from everybody.  I'm pretty sure all of my sisters have called and talked to her.  I haven't called her yet.  I feel nervous to call her.  I'm not sure what to say.  I'm scared that it will be like it was when I called my mom when she was in the hospital.  It was hard for her to talk and I could tell she was in a lot of pain and didn't really want to talk.  It made me feel really sad and I desperately wanted to have her feeling good and be able to have a normal conversation with her.  I was blessed with that opportunity about 4 weeks later.  She finally was feeling better and we were able to talk and laugh together.  It was amazing.  Then the next day, she passed away.  I was very happy that my last memory of her was a good one.  I'm thankful that the awkward phone call where it was hard for her to talk and she was feeling so miserable, was not the last time we spoke.  I'm afraid that if I call my grandma, it will be like that, but I won't get a chance to talk to her when she is feeling normal and my last conversation with her will be a sad one.  I'm going to call her tomorrow.  I really do need to talk to her before I can't anymore.  She is ready to die and she wants it to be her time really bad.  I've known this for a while.  I will be happy for her, but it is still going to be so hard to let her go.  I'm going to miss her way too much.  Anyway, the latest updates are that she has pneumonia and there is a lot of fluid around her heart.  They don't know why.  They told her they would run some test to figure out why, then they could talk about a treatment plan.  She told them that she doesn't want them to treat it.  She would just like them to do comfort care for her.  The doctor also said that grandma cannot live on her own anymore.  Grandma told Johnny that he could put her in a nursing home if they need.  She keeps saying that she is sure she doesn't have much time left.  Aunt Bonnie is going to go and stay with grandma for as long as she needs, so grandma will not be alone and she won't have to go to a nursing home.  I'm glad for that.  Kristy and Kaylie headed up to Montana yesterday so they could see and spend some time with grandma.  I'm glad she was able to go.  I feel really bad that I couldn't go with her.  I really don't like being so busy.  I really need to get my business going and make some money so I can be free from my job.  I am a stay-at-home mommy!  Not a working mommy!  I have got to get this fixed so life can go back to the way it should be.

Bone Family Reunion 2017 - August 5, 2017

Saturday - August 5th
We have been having lots and lots of busy days lately.  Alissa, Parker, and Brinley marched in the Wheat and Beat Days Parade in Garland this morning.  This was the first year we ever went to that parade.  I've always known about it, but haven't been, because something always seems to come up, keeping us from going.  We couldn't miss it this year, though, because our children were in it.  Alissa marched with the color guard and Parker and Brinley marched in front of them carrying the banner that announced the color guard and band.  They all had fun.  Alissa was a little frustrated with herself for a few mistakes she made.  But I saw all of the girls messing up here and there, so I don't think she has anything to worry about.  She was also embarrassed because she forgot to shave her legs this morning and her coach noticed and pointed it out in front of everybody.  Another girl had forgotten also, so Alissa wasn't the only one who got called out on that one.  Alissa was just really frustrated because she had tried so hard to make it so there was nothing for her to get called out on.  She was panicky when I curled the bottom of her hair and not all of her hair.  She said her coach told them to wear it completely straight or curly.  She was afraid that straight with curls at the end would get her in trouble.  It didn't.  She looked really cute.  The coach just wanted to make sure their hair was done nice.
Later in the day when Alissa watched the videos we recorded, she was disappointed because each time we recorded her, were the times she messed up.  She said she didn't really well, except for a mess up at the beginning then again at the end.  Roger and I had set up our seats at the beginning of the parade route, then after they passed, we packed up and drover around to the end of the route to pick them up.  We got there before them, so we ran over to record them passing by again.
Here are the videos we took at the parade: Video at the start of the paradevideo taken at the end of the parade
After the parade, we came home and relaxed for a little while, then packed up and headed to the Bone Family Reunion.  We had a lot of fun.  There was lots to do and it was really fun to visit with my cousins.  I'm always really shy when I first get there, but once I convince myself to stop being shy and I start talking with my cousins, we have a lot of fun.  My favorite part was playing volleyball.  I used to dislike that when I was a kid, because I'm not very good and I felt like everybody was getting upset at me every time I missed it.  I can enjoy it a lot more as an adult.  I know it's a game and it is for fun, so I don't need to feel bad when I miss the ball.  It was a lot of fun to get caught up , play games, and spend time together.  I really do love family time.

I offered to get some food for Roger when I went to dish up my plate.  He said he didn't know what he wanted, so I told him I would surprise him.  While I was in line, I was trying to think of something funny or creative to surprise him with.  I couldn't think of anything, but my sister Missy had an idea.  She suggested hotdog on a hamburger bun or hamburger on a hotdog bun.  So that's what I did.  I fixed him a hamburger on a hotdog bun.  Here's the picture of him enjoying it.
When I was getting our food. I had a hard time getting the ketchup and mustard to come out.  Each time, I ended up squeezing them too hard and it made a mess.  The first time, I ended up missing my plate completely and squirted it all over Parker's shoe.  After that, I at least got it on my plate, but I was trying to get it on the buns.  It was funny.

Kristy and her family were running late.  They got here a little bit after we did.  The parking lot was super crowded and it was really hard to find parking.  We got lucky, because we saw a spot right away and just pulled into it.  I almost made Roger back out and drive around until we see where everybody is meeting.  But, right before we did that, Roger saw Shelley.  We got out and asked her where they were all meeting.  She pointed to where they were.  I asked if we should drive over there, but she said we better not, because the parking lot is full.  I was glad we listened.  When Kristy got there, she called Linda to help her find a spot.  Linda went to the parking lot and found a spot.  She stood in it, while she tried to direct Kristy to it.  But another car came and stopped right in front of it.  The driver of that car refused to leave.  They just kept staring down Linda to get her to move.  Linda was frustrated and she moved.  I thought it was funny, because I was sitting and visiting with my cousins Sherri and Terri and when Linda told us about it, they were like, "Where's the car?  show us where it is.  We should go do something to it.  Like throw eggs at it or toilet paper it."  That made me laugh.  Of course, we didn't go and do anything.  It was just a funny thought.
After we ate, Linda had some minute to win it games for us to play.  I started out announcing it, but I wasn't really sure what we were doing and I felt kind of stupid.  So, after the first game, I asked if there was anybody who was not so shy and awkward that would like to come and be the announcer and make things feel a little more fun.  My cousin Travis stepped up.  He did a much better job at it than I did.  I liked that.
The games were fun, but they didn't last too long, because a couple people were leaving and we wanted to take a group photo of everybody together, before they left.

After the picture, we didn't end up going back to our games.  We all started talking, then Roger and Alissa grabbed the volleyball and headed to the court.  A bunch of us noticed and wanted to go play also.  When I walked around the corner to join them though, I was surprised because they weren't at the court.  They were gathered over by the water looking at something.  I later found out, that they had started to play and Alissa hit the ball and it went into the water.  They had to get creative to get it out.  The water was gross and it had a warning sign telling people not to swim in it.
After they got the ball, a lot of us were ready to play.  It was a lot of fun.  The only problem was the ball ended up going into the water a few times.

This was the worst time that the ball went in the water.  It went out there really far and we couldn't reach it.  so, my cousin, Julie, climbed on a floaty toy and headed out to get it.  It was so gross.  I'm so glad she was went and did that.  It was really funny to watch.
Alissa and I both took videos of her trying to get the ball.  You can watch them by clicking on these links: Alissa's videoMy video
My video is not as good as Alissa's.  I used my picture camera to take mine, because I didn't want to walk over to get my phone.  My picture camera had the zoom lense on, so it was hard to keep it still.
I asked Missy to take pictures of all the fun, while I played.  She was really funny and took a bunch of pictures of me, pictures of our feet, a sock, and just some random things.  At one point she gave the camera to Damen and told him what she had been doing, so he took over and continued doing the same thing.  I think it is funny.  Anyway, I 'm glad Damen was able to come.  I had seen on Facebook that he was scheduled to work.  Missy told him to trade shifts with someone.  I'm guessing that's what he did, since he was there.
Kari couldn't make it though.  He boyfriend, Justin's sister tried to commit suicide yesterday, so she is in the hospital.  Missy said that it looked like she had taken a bunch of pills.  They couldn't pump her stomach though, because by the time they found her, the pills had been in her system to long to be able to pump her stomach and get them out.  She is in a coma and has not woken up yet.  They don't know if she will and if she does, they have no idea how much damage has been done.  I feel really bad for Kari having to deal with that.  Hearing that someone you care about is so upset that they actually tried to kill themselves, is really hard.  I think the hardest part would be to not feel guilty and blame yourself.  You probably start thinking of all the things you wish you had done.  Why didn't I realize this person was that upset?  What could I have done differently?  Why wasn't I a better friend?  Stuff like that.  I heard from somebody who has dealt with people who are suicidal and a person who has lost a lot of family members to suicide.  And they say that, most people start acting happy and normal again, before they commit suicide.  So, in most cases, friends and family are concerned, but then the person starts acting normal and happy again, so they think everything is going good and they stop feeling so worried.  Then the person does it.  The people I learned this from, believed that this happens because the person has made up their mind that they are finally going to do it and they feel happy about their decision,  Because most of them feel that the world and everybody around them would be happier and better off if they were gone.  So, it's almost like a weight off of their shoulders and they feel happy before they do it.
Sorry to get off my main subject with talk about suicide.  I just think it is so sad.  It is a very sad and difficult thing to deal with.  I feel like there is so much that I don't understand about it.  It also makes me feel bad, to think that so many of them actually feel everybody would be happier without them.  So many people don't know their own worth.  They just can't see it.  It makes me think I need to work harder to help all the people around me, see and know how great and important they are to me.

Okay.  Back to the fun.  So, these are some of the pictures after Missy and Damen told me what they were doing.
On this google photos app, it gives suggestions for your pictures and videos.  It sent a really funny suggested image to Roger.  He thought it was funny, so he saved it and shared it with me.
This is it.  in the one on the left, I was trying to look intimidating to the other team.  Lol.  I'm embarrassing!
Every time Missy took pictures of Mikal, he made funny faces at her, so there are some funny pictures of Mikal in here.  I thought it was really funny as I was scrolling through the pictures.  Everyone's playing the game and happy and smiling, then a picture of Mikal with that angry looking face would pop up.  It made me laugh.
Here we are trying to save the ball from the water again.

This is my cousin, Sandy's little boy.  He is so cute!  He stayed on the side of the court for a lot of the game.  He wanted his mom and dad.

For a little while, after we had lost the ball too many times in the water, Parker stood close to the water and watched for the ball so he could stop it from going in.  But, eventually he got bored.  He had brought some of his cars with him, so he grabbed his cars and played in the sand with some cousins.

I made some cute little slideshows of our fun times at the reunion.  I need to figure out how I can post them on here, with out having a link to it.  But until then, here are the videos.  Just click on these links to watch them.

Bone Family Reunion 2017 - Volleyball

The reunion was lots of fun.  Our drive home, was not.  Parker's tummy started to hurt.  He thought he needed to throw up or that he was just getting car sick.  Anyway, we asked all the kids to go to the bathroom before we left the park.  Parker said he really did not have to go.  So he sat in the truck and waited while we all went.  Then, Roger stopped at the first town we passed, to get himself a soda.  As soon as we left the town, Parker told us he had to go to the bathroom.  We were frustrated, because he had just had 2 opportunities to go and he hadn't taken them.  We didn't understand at the time, that he had an upset tummy and was just having a hard time knowing if he had to throw up or poop.  Anyway, we found another place to stop and Parker went to the bathroom.  He was in there for a while, but came out saying that he felt much better.  Then as soon as we got back on the main highway and we were outside of that town, he told us he thought he needed to go again.  So, we found another town to stop at.  This time, we looked for a McDonald's, so we could go in, eat something, and relax while Parker was in the bathroom.  We knew he needed more time to get it out of his system so we could make the drive home.  He was in there for a really long time.  When he came out, he was shaky and cold.  He really wasn't feeling well.  I think the biggest problem was that he was dehydrated.  I got him to drink some water when we got back in the truck, then he fell asleep.  So we were able to get home.  He woke up, right before we took our exit, and told us he needed to use the bathroom again.  Luckily, we were almost home.  I used my phone to disarm our security system and have the door unlocked so he could just run in and make it to the bathroom on time.  That's something I really love about our security system.  We used to have to wait at the door, while everybody gathered their things.  And it always seemed like the person with the keys was the last one to get to the door.  It's nice to have a code on the door to unlock it or we just use our phones.
