Montana 2002

Tuesday - July 23rd
I went to Montana with out Roger this year since he had to work.  I just couldn't bear the thought of not going this year.  I've gone every year of my life.  It would feel so wrong not to go.  I really, really missed Roger while I was gone.  It was weird to be without him for so long.
It was a fun trip.  I had fun spending so much time with my family.  Here are the pictures and links to the videos that I took each day of our trip. Videos from day 1videos from day 2videos from day 3.
My handsome nephew, Damen.
Grandma Mathison holding my new niece, Kaylie while we visit in the living room.
Ben and Alex needed hair cuts, so Grandpa turned on the generator and set up a little hair cutting station.  Neither of them seemed very happy about that.
Playing in the creek.  I sat in a chair and took videos of all the playing in the creek fun.

Kari was showing us how to gut a fish.
 Four-wheeling around.
I never get pictures of me, so I decided to turn the camera around for a second.
 Little baby Kaylie

 My mom and Kaylie
We spent Dad's birthday in town.  Kristy and Kari were both able to get 5-generation pictures.  I was feeling super jealous that I didn't have my little baby with me, so I get get a picture also.
Ben and Alex noticed the camera, then all the kids gathered around to get in the video.
Lighting the candles and singing happy birthday.

Ben and Alex kept trying to blow out the candles.  Ben was able to blow a few of them out before the song was over, so we had to relight them.  It was kind of funny.  I think those boys are too cute.

Missy Got Hit by a Car - June 5, 2002

Wednesday - June 5th
We had a nice relaxing vacation at my parent's place.  But, it didn't start out relaxing.  When we were pulling in, my dad came out and told us that they just got a phone call that Missy had been hit by a car.  I was so upset and sick to my stomach when I heard that.  I worry so much about Missy.  I really wish she was still living with my parents.  I wish that she did not make the choices that she did.  Anyway, Marty was the one who called my parents and he didn't give them any details.  He told them that he would call as soon as he knew more, but he never called.  As soon as mom got off the phone with him, she started calling my other sisters to see if one of them could go and check on her and find out what was happening.  Linda was on her way to work, but she called and told them she would be coming in late, so she could check on Missy. It took Linda about an hour to get there, so we sat there worrying for an hour and a half until Linda called.  My mom called and talked to Marty one more time before Linda called, but he still didn't give us very much information.  We were worried sick not knowing anything.  Linda told us that Marty had told Missy that her parents were acting like they didn't care and weren't worried at all.  Rude!
So, here is what happened:  A lady was driving and she got sick.  She pulled over and threw up.  she got back in the car and started driving.  Then she passed out and swerved off the road and hit Missy.  She came too and realized that she had hit something, so she drove back to see what she had hit.  When she went back to see, the police were already there and witnesses pointed at her and told them that she was the one who did the hit and run.  she was so upset and hysterical when she realized what had happened.
Now here is what happened with Missy:  Missy was walking to work (on the sidewalk).  She looked up and saw a car swerving off the road towards her.  She wasn't sure which way the car was going to go, so she didn't know which way to run. It looked like the car was coming right for her.  Like it was purposely trying to run her over.  She just turned around and started running.  She took 2 or 3 steps and next thing she knew, she was flying through the air.  she landed on her stomach and bounced and skidded along for a little ways in the grass.  She said, after she quit moving, her first instinct was to get up and run.  She tried to get up and couldn't.  She was afraid the car was coming after her and going to try and hit her again.  When she realized she couldn't get up, she saw a lady running toward her.  Missy just looked up at the lady and said, "Help. Help."
Missy ended up with a broken ankle and lots of scratches and bruises.  She is now very afraid to walk anywhere, for fear of being hit by a car.  The lady that hit her is also very upset said she never wants to drive again.
I took a video of Missy showing her ouchies and telling us about her experience.  Here it is.
Here she is telling us what happened.
Here are some of her ouchies.  She has a cut on her forehead, scratches on both legs, really bad bruising on the leg with the broken ankle, and a cut on her elbow.  It looks painful.
Elizabeth was excited about the new goggles they had just gotten.
The rest of our trip was nice and relaxing.  Roger got to ride the 4-wheeler a lot and he really liked that.  Here are the pictures and the video from our St. George trip.

We got home an Saturday, June 1st.  roger dropped me off at Linda's while he came home and went to work.  Roger's mom and sisters threw a baby shower for Melissa and I in salt Lake.  That was a lot of fun.  Baby showers are great!

We're Going to St. George - May 27, 2002

Monday - May 27th
We are going to go to St. George tomorrow.  We had a very relaxing day.  We both slept until 1:30pm, then we just sat around and relaxed until Roger had to go to work.  After Roger left, I went over to Carol's (her husband works with Roger) and we laid out in the sun, read books, and talked.  She is just starting to read 'The Work and The Glory' series.  I'm on volume 9, but I decided to read something else.  I was in the mood for bear attack stories, so I read 'Death in Yellowstone'.  I came home from Carol's around 8:00pm because I needed to get somethings done before Roger and I leave tomorrow.  I started the laundry, ate some dinner, got in the shower, did my hair, then started packing.  Now I need to go to do the dishes and go to bed.
Roger called me around 9:00pm tonight.  One of the machines broke down and they couldn't fix it.  they weren't able to do any work because of the machine.  He said that if they couldn't get the machine fixed soon, they were going to send people home, so he might come home early.  He hasn't come home yet, so I'm guessing they got the machine fixed.  We plan to sleep until noon tomorrow, then wake up and go to my parent's house.

Hanging Out With Missy and Marty - May 26, 2002

Sunday - May 26th
I ended up sleeping all day with Roger.  The alarm clock didn't go off.  I slept until 2:00pm.  I didn't sleep at all last night, that's why I was able to sleep all day.  Roger is going to try and get on a new shift so he won't be working graveyards anymore.  He is trying to get on the wed, thurs, friday day shift.  If he gets on that shift he will work from 5:00am to 5:00pm.  I really hope he gets on that shift before we move into Caroline and Scott's four-plex.  I feel nervous about being home alone there when he works graveyards.  Nights aren't so scary here, because this is a shared house.  I know that if there was a problem, the Griffins are right upstairs and will help.
Missy and Marty came over tonight.  They just moved to Layton and they don't know anybody around there, so they were bored and decided to visit.  They haven't seen where I live before.  We played cards and watched movies.  They left around 1:00am.

Roger's Birthday! - May 25, 2002

Saturday - May 25th
It's Roger's birthday!  We went to Salt Lake yesterday for Roger's birthday.  I planned a little surprise party for him with his friends.  So, we spent Friday night celebrating his birthday with his friends and today we celebrated with his family.
So, on Friday, we slept in, then woke up and packed our stuff to go to Salt Lake.  We stopped and visited with roger's mom until about 6:30, then we met Spencer and Somer at 7:00 and went to eat at Lita's Pizza.  That's where all the friends were waiting to surprise Roger.  Jamie and Kirk were late.  I had asked them to bring a Chocolate Satin Pie from Marie Calanders (Roger's favorite pie) to surprise roger.  Tyson was also late.  He witnessed a car accident on the way and had to fill out a police report.  He was stopped at a red light.  When the light turned green, he had a feeling not to go.  The car next to him went and he started to go, but the spirit told him to stop.  He stopped.  Just then a car ran the red light and smashed into the car that had been next to him and had gone when the light turned green. If he hadn't listened to the spirit and stopped, he would have been the one who got hit.
Besides Tyson's near accident on the way to the party, everything went great.  Roger kind of expected that his friends would be there, so he wasn't too surprised about that, but he was surprised that Jamie and Kirk and Tyson came.  He was also surprised by the pie they brought.  I really wanted roger to have a fun birthday.  He made my birthday so fun and special. I really wanted to return the favor.  After dinner, we went to a movie ('Spiderman') with his friends.  Then we went to his mom's house to sleep.  Here are the pictures and video I took while we were at Lita's Pizza.
We woke up around 7:00am to start helping his mom move her things out.  She sold her house and has to be out by May 31st (I think).  She is going to go on a mission.  She got called to serve in the Manchester, England mission.  She leaves for the MTC in August.  We are sad that she won't be here to see Alissa when she is born, but we are also very happy for her.  Anyway, all of the family came to help her move today.  Everybody worked hard all morning, then at noon, we had a barbecue (hot dogs, potato chips, and drinks).  After lunch, I brought out a cake that I had made for Roger. and we sang 'Happy Birthday'.  Roger blew out the candles then we ate cake and pie.  After that, Roger and I had to leave.  We had to be back so roger could go to work tonight.  He is the best husband.  I love him so much.  I'm so glad we get to spend eternity together.  Here are the pictures and video I took today.

 Here is my pregnant belly.
And here is my handsome husband.

Brittany Peed on Me - May 23, 2002

Thursday - May 23rd
We ended up not going to visit my parents like we had planned.  We couldn't sleep, so we thought it would not be safe for us to be driving so tired.  We decided not to go.  We are going to try and go this next week on Tuesday.  We relaxed at home on Wednesday.  The baby was kicking!  She has started to kick a lot harder.  I've been waiting for her to kick hard enough that Roger can feel too.  She finally started.  I put my hand on my stomach and I saw and felt it move.  I wish Roger was her to feel it.  He's at work.  He works the graveyard shift.
I went to a Dr. appointment today.  The doctor said that everything looks good with the baby.  I had the doctor freeze the wart on my finger again.  I hope it will die this time.  I also had him put some acid stuff on my warts on my feet.  When I took the Band-aids off, I noticed that a big chunk of the wart on my toe had been killed.  It's gone!  I was really happy that the acid he put on it is really working.  Warts are really yucky.  I really wish I never had any.
After the doctors appointment, we went to visit Caroline.  We ended up staying for only a short while because Brittany went potty on my leg.  We were sitting at the table eating and she was sitting on my lap.  She just couldn't hold it.  She felt bad and was really embarrassed that that had happened.  It was pretty funny.  I let her know that I was not mad and she warmed up to me again.  After that, we came home and I washed laundry while Roger played the Sims game (it is so addicting).

Young Women's Activity - May 21, 2002

Tuesday - May 21st
Roger and I just got home from Walmart.  We went to buy Roger's birthday present.  He got a Sims Expansion Pack (a computer game).  We also ended up buying some granola bars (travel food for tomorrow).
Tonight Roger and I got to talk to the Young Women about the importance of Temple marriage.  They asked us to bring things about our wedding day.  I took my wedding dress and a wedding photo album.  We had a lot of fun talking about our wedding.  I made Roger do most of the talking.  He is very smart and is great at knowing what to say and teaching,  I hope that we made a good impression on the Young Women.  I hope we helped them to realize the importance of temple marriage.    Now that we are done talking to them, a lot of things have come to my mind that I wish I would have said to them.  I had a lot of fun at the activity tonight.  I'm finally getting to know the young women better and feel a lot better about my calling.  I've been the secretary in young womens for about 2 months now.  I'm really happy to have a calling.
Tomorrow, Roger and I are going to visit my parents at their new property by Brian Head Ski Resort.  We are going to stay until Friday.  Then we will come home to celebrate Roger's birthday with his friends.  I've been trying to put together a surprise party for him.  I'm really hoping that his friends will show up and everything will turn out okay.  I really want him to have a good birthday.  I need to go to bed now.  We are going to wake up early for our trip to see my parents.

We're Having A Girl! - May 9, 2002

Thursday - May 9th
We go to find out the sex of our little baby today.  We are having a little girl.  ( We already knew we were from our experience in the temple).  We are so excited for our little Alissa to be born!  She was so cute in her ultra sound.  We could see her face.  She had her hand by her mouth and she was moving her mouth.  It was very cute and exciting to see.

Shelley's Birthday - March 27, 2002

Wednesday - March 27th
We are back in St. George again.  I just can't get enough of spending time with my family.  I can't bring myself to miss anything.  This is Shelley's 30th birthday.  My dad put all the candles in the cake, but Shelley said she didn't want to blow them out, so we didn't light them.  She just pretended to blow them out after the song.  I recorded all the birthday fun, so here is the video.

Hannah drew this cute picture for Missy and her "Boyfriend".  Missy kept telling her that he was her husband now, but Hannah wouldn't listen and just kept calling him her boyfriend.  Hannah is a cute girl.  I love her so much.  Also, she is very funny and entertaining.
This is the kids when the party was over and they had to head home.  I recorded them as they got ready to go.  They are too cute!

St. George - March 17, 2002

Sunday - March 17th
We are home now.  We had a lot of fun in St. George.  I love going there and spending time with my family.  I miss them all too much.
We relaxed for a little while in the morning then we packed up all our stuff and stopped by my sister's houses to say good-bye.  Here is the video.
Oh... I almost forgot... Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Roger didn't wear any green at all today.  Of course, I pinched him a few times, but it got old and boring really fast.  I've never been around somebody who didn't wear green on St. Patrick's Day.  Crazy Roger.

A Baby shower For Kristy - March 16, 2002

Saturday - March 16th
We are in St. George for Kristy's Baby Shower.  Her little baby is due in about a month.  I'm so excited for her and jealous that I still have so long to go before my due date.  Her baby shower was nice.  she got a ton of cute, fun gifts.  It was fun to see lots of family.  I really liked it.  Here is the video I took of Kristy opening her gifts.

Pregnancy is Rough - March 5, 2002

Tuesday - March 5th
My sister Missy got married on February 25th.  She kind of ran away with this boy and called to let us all know about the wedding the day before it happened.  The only ones from our family who could attend were my mom and dad.  I worry about Missy a lot.  I really hope that she can be happy.  There is a lot more to this story, but I don't feel like I should be the one to share it.
Anyway, I've been sick a lot lately.  My stomach constantly hurts.  I always feel like I need to throw up.  I really don't like the way it feels to throw up.  It scares me a lot.  Whenever I get sick, I pray and ask Heavenly Father to not let me throw up and to let my body get rid of the yuck the other way, so I haven't thrown up in a really long time.  It's been so long that I forgot how horrible it is.  With my constant tummy aches, I always feel like I need to throw up and the though keeps coming to me that if I could throw up then I will feel better.  so, I have been really wanting to throw up, to ease my stomach pain.  Last night, I finally did throw up.  Now I remember why I never want that to happen again.  It feels so scary to me.  I felt like I was going to pass out.  It was horrible and it didn't ease my stomach ache at all.  I'm thankful for the reminder, so I can stop wasting my time wishing that I would throw up, now I can go back to praying that it will never happen again.
Sorry for all the yucky talk, but that's what my life is lately.
On to happier stuff.... I talked to Linda tonight for a long time.  I miss her a lot.  We have a lot of fun talking.  We end up being on the phone for such a long time whenever we call each other.  We just reminisce about old times and have so much fun.  She said that she found some old pictures today.  There was a picture of me and Kristy in our old smurf house.  It's funny that Linda remembered that today, because I was remembering this boy, Jamie, that used to have a crush on Linda.  He would come over and bother her all the time.  She wouldn't hang out with him and neither would any other sisters.  The only ones at our house who would hang out with him were Shelley and I.  I remember that we had a lot of fun hanging out with him.  Anyway, the reason that it is funny that Linda remembered the smurf house is that the last time I remember him coming over, he sat on me and Kristy's smurf house and broke it.  I was pretty sad when he did that.  Linda said she was wondering what had happened to the smurf house.  We had a fun time talking and laughing about those memories.  I miss Shelley a lot also.  I was going to call her tonight, but I ended up being on the phone too long with Linda.
Today was a nice day.  I did a lot of crocheting and that was fun.  Tomorrow Mom, Dad, Kristy, Kari, and her kids are all coming to visit and see where I live.  I'm very excited about that.  I'm excited to have company coming.
I just realized that I've been so caught up in my crocheting and feeling sick (because of the pregnancy) that I've neglected my husband today.  I didn't make him dinner because I was feeling sick.  Then I spent the rest of the night crocheting and talking on the phone to Linda.  I'm going to go apologize and pamper him as much as I can to try and make up for it.  I have the greatest husband in the world.  I need to do my best to let him know that's how I feel and to help him feel that way.  I love Roger so much.  when we first got married I didn't think it was possible to love him more than I did then.  But it is.  I love him more and more everyday.  It amazes me.  He is the best!

Our Weekend in St. George - February 18, 2002

Monday - February 18th
Roger had an interview today and he has another one tomorrow to get hired on full time at Autoliv.  If he gets hired on, he will work three 12 hour days a week.  Actually, he will be working nights.  That will be hard on us, but it will be nice for him to have 4 days off of work each week.
We went to St. George this last weekend.  We had a lot of fun!  We went hiking at Red Cliffs.  We hiked through the water and it was so cold, but we had so much fun.
Missy's birthday is on the 21st, but we celebrated it while we were there with everybody.  It was a fun little party.  My cute little nieces and nephews couldn't get enough of the camera time.  This is the video I took of Missy's Birthday party.  She is turning 18.

What We've Been Up To - February 11, 2002

Monday - February 11th
Well, it's been a little while since my last post.  I have a lot to tell you about  On February 2nd, Roger and I moved to Brigham City.  We took a leap of faith and moved.  We had a lot of help moving our stuff, so that wasn't bad.
Here are some pictures and the video I took.

So far things are going great for us.  The Griffins (our landlords) are really nice.  They take good care of us.  Things are going good at Roger's work.  He talked to one of the head guys and told him our situation (how we moved, I'm pregnant, no insurance, and he needs to be hired on permanently).  The guy told him about a position that just opened up.  Something to do with handling chemicals (it's not a job that very many people want).  If Roger gets this job, he will get a $2.00 raise, they will put me on his insurance, and we will be able to afford living!  Roger will find out this week if he gets the job or not.  Roger things that he will get it.  When he talks to the boss about it, he says it sounds like he is implying that Roger will get the job.
Last Tuesday (on the 6th) I went to the doctor for my first ultra sound.  My friends Jenny Springman and Regan Cowley came to hang out, so they came with me to my appointment.  It was so exciting to see the baby.  For an ultra sound to work you have to have a full bladder while they do it.  I was so worried that my bladder wasn't going to be full enough, so I drank a ton of water.  I ended up drinking too much water.  I could hardly hold it.  I had to pee so bad my legs were shaking.  It was the most uncomfortable thing in my life.  I was so sure I was going to wet myself.  Jenny and Regan kept making me laugh on the way to the hospital which made it even harder.  They kept making jokes about what a small town Brigham City is.  They pointed out that there are only 4 stop lights.  I agree with them, Brigham City is pretty small.  Anyway.... so....luckily I did not wet myself.  When the nurse realized that I was only 8 weeks along, she decided to do the ultra sound another way.  So, she let me go a head and use the bathroom.  I was so relieved.  I'm glad that I've experienced what that is like, so I will be able to do it right the next time. I know now, not to fill my bladder too full.
On Wednesday the 7th, Roger and I went with Caroline, Scott, and their kids to go and see the Olympic torch.  They ran with it through Brigham City on 200 e. and Main st. then spent the night at  the City Center (or something like that. I don't know the name of the building).  It was really cold outside and I was not feeling well, so we left early.  We didn't get to see the big ceremony that they did.  That was a bummer.
On Friday the 9th, we watched the Olympics opening ceremony on TV.  It's pretty exciting having the Olympics here in Utah.  Earlier on Friday, Roger;s mom and our niece, Missy, went downtown.  They said that President Bush drove by in a limo and he was waving to everybody.  They said that he waved at them.  They were very excited about that.
Anyway, I can't think of what else I missed and didn't write about.  It's Monday morning.  roger just left to go to work.  I have a little stomach ache, so I'm laying in bed.  I've been a lot more sick lately from the pregnancy.  I wake up every morning feeling sick, then I'm sick again at 3:00pm everyday (never fails).  I'm just starting my third month of pregnancy.  They say the sickness goes away after the third month.  If that's true, the first part of March is when I should stop being so sick and tired all the time.  I will also have another ultra sound.  The baby should be developed enough that we can tell if we are having a boy or a girl.  We are very excited to find out (although, we know from our experience in the temple, when we first learned about this pregnancy, that we are having a girl).  I'm so happy to get to be a mom!
Yesterday, we attended our new ward for the first time.  They were very friendly and we felt welcomed.  Our landlord asked us to say the prayers in sacrament meeting.  We had been asked to say them in our old ward two weeks ago and I was too scared, so I said "no".  I promised roger that I would do it the next time they ask us.  I just didn't think that we would be asked again so soon.  So, yesterday, I said the prayer in sacrament meeting for the first time in my life.  I was extremely nervous.  I was afraid that I would get up there and my mind would go blank.  Thankfully, that did not happen.  I went up there and prayed with no trouble at all.  It felt good.  I'm glad they asked us.

Roger's New Job - January 24, 2002

Thursday - January 24, 2002
Yesterday Roger started working at Autoliv.  They called on Tuesday and asked him to start on Wednesday.  He's not hired on by Autoliv.  He is working there through S.O.S.  They gave him a 3 week assignment to work at Autoliv.  They said that if Autoliv liked him after that assignment, they would have him come again and he would just keep working at Autoliv through S.O.S. services until Autoliv decides to hire him.  It is so hard not knowing what is going to happen.  We are nervous about moving to Brigham City because we don't know how things will work with Autoliv.  Roger is applying at other places in Brigham City just in case.  I really want things to work out and for him to get hired on at Autoliv.
I have an appointment with Baby Your Baby today.  They are going to help pay until we get insurance.  Because we don't have insurance, I haven't been able to go see a doctor yet.  I met with Roger's sister Cindi (the midwife).  She said I can come and see her until I can get in to see a doctor.  I prayed about using a midwife and trying to have a home birth, but it didn't feel like it was the right thing for me.  I'm glad that Cindi has been so nice and so willing to help me out until I can see a doctor.  I appreciate everything she has done for me.
We are really putting our faith in the lord.  We have prayed about all of these big decisions we are making and we have both felt very strongly that this is what Heavenly Father wants us to do.  It is just a little scary, when we let ourselves start thinking about the what ifs.  We don't know what is going to happen at the end of 3 weeks with Autoliv.  Roger might be unemployed and we will have just moved to this new city.

Babysitting Kristen and Elizabeth - January 14, 2002

Monday - January 14th
Today Elizabeth and Kristen came over to play.  We went to the playground.  It was cold, but fun.  We played the piano, made a video, made a tent, watched a movie, and we saw instruments (trumpet, accordian, and piano).  We went to Walmart and bought hair clippers.  I cut Roger's hair today.  I messed up one of his side burns.  That was the first time I cut his hair.  It turned out all right.  We went to the library and Elizabeth got a book about Toucans and a book about flowers.  She has already read the Toucan book once.  She is going to read it again out loud to us.  Kristin wanted a book about vampires, but we didn't find one that we liked, so she got a Halloween book and a dragon book.  She read them on the way home from the library.  I got a baby names book, a book with family night activities, and a book with scary stories.  We had a good day and it was a lot of fun having Elizabeth and Kristin here.  They are spending the night.  Here are the pictures and a long video that we took of our fun.

I'm Pregnant! - January 12, 2002

Saturday - January 12th
I took the second pregnancy test yesterday morning and the second line was much more noticeable.  I am definitely pregnant!  Yippy!  I wasn't feeling well yesterday, that's why I didn't post about it until today.  Anyway, Roger's sister, Cindi, is a midwife.  She figures that I am about 4 1/2 weeks along and that my due date is September 16, 2002!
We went to Brigham City today to find an apartment.  Caroline and Scott set up an appointment for us to meet with some people in their ward who have a basement apartment for rent.  We will have to rent somewhere until Caroline and Scott get all moved out of the four-plex and into their new home, then we can move in.  Their house is still in the process of being built.  The people we met seemed very nice and I felt really good at the thought of living there.  We haven't prayed about it yet, so I can't tell you for sure if we will move there or not.
We visited with Caroline and Scott for a while after we saw the apartment.  She is excited to have some family living close by.  Her kids were also very excited.  They said they want me to babysit them sometimes.  I think they are such cute, nice kids, I know that I would have fun babysitting them.
On our way home from Brigham City, we stopped at the store to buy a few groceries.  Then Tyson came over.  Roger and him went to rent some movies, while I made popcorn.  I didn't watch the movies with them.  Instead, I sat and read books about pregnancy.  I'm excited and nervous and a little scared all at the same time.  But mostly excited.  There are a lot of crazy emotions and symptoms, but I love being pregnant!

Positive Pregnancy Test - January 10, 2002

Thursday - January 10th
I went to a Mary Kay Party Tonight.  I don't love those, but my friend Marque was throwing it, so I thought it wouldn't be terrible, since my friends would be there.  I don't really like to wear make up, so these parties are that exciting for me.  Anyway.  We had fun.  After the party Lindsay and Marque went country line dancing and Regan and I went to see the movie 'Serendipity'.  I loved it.  It was a cute movie and I want to buy it when it comes out on video.
I spent a lot of time at the library today looking at books about pregnancy.  I was reading to find out what are the symptoms that people experience that lets them know they are pregnant.  I have a lot of those symptoms.  I bought a pregnancy test.  There were two tests in the package.  It says on the instructions that the best time to do it is in the morning, but since there were two, I didn't want to wait.  I figured, I'll take one tonight, then the other one in the morning.  I think I drank a lot of water today and the package said that would affect the test result.  So, I waited for two hours with no drinking and no peeing (and I really needed to pee.  I held it for 2 hours, though), then I took the test.  Roger and I set a timer.  When it went off, we both raced to the bathroom to see what it said.  If I am pregnant, there should be 2 lines.  If not, there will be only 1.  When I first glanced at it I saw only one line, but when I looked closer, I saw two.  One line was really hard to see.  Roger thought that meant I was not pregnant.  I've seen a negative pregnancy test before and you can not see the line at all.  We debated about it for a little while then decided it was positive.  I had heard that the line is very hard to see.  I have also heard of others having the same experience, where they were unsure because it was hard to see the line.  I know I'm pregnant!  I can feel it!  I'm going to take the other test first thing in the morning to make sure.  Too many weird things have been going on in my body.  If I'm not pregnant, then I must be ill, because my body is acting weird.  Roger is really excited that I am pregnant.  He went to his friend, Jason's Bachelor party tonight.  It is 12:37am and he is still not home.  He should be home shortly though.  I miss him.  It's weird when we both go off and do our own things.  I'm so used to having him with me.  We always hang out together.  So, tonight was different.  But, I had fun and I'm sure he is having fun.

Kristy's Birthday - January 9, 2002

Wednesday - January 9th
Today is Kristy's birthday.  I miss her a lot.  I miss living at home with all of my sisters.  Kristy said that Kelly called her today and apologized for the mean things that she did to Kristy and I when we were younger.  Kelly said she keeps having little flash backs and remembering rude things that she did to us.  Kelly is really funny.  I miss her a lot also.  Kristy came over tonight.  We made peanut butter balls, talked, and watched TV.  It was fun to spend some time with her.  I am really emotional lately and I think I'm pregnant.  I'm actually sure of it, because of the way I've been feeling and an experience that we had in the temple yesterday.  One of the symptoms that I told my mom about, she said that's what Grandma Bone always had when she was pregnant.  So, I'm pretty excited!  I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet.  I'll let you know when that happens.
We've been worried about what we'll do if I am pregnant.  We can't afford insurance through Roger's work if I am pregnant.  We've been praying about what we should do.  Roger's sister Caroline was joking around, since they finally got a house and they are going to get to move to Ogden.  They have been living in a 4-plex in Brigham City for the last 10 years.  Scott's dad owns it, so they have been living there for free.  Caroline liked it at first, but as their family has grown, she wanted to move out of there and have a house.  She is so tired of living there and she can't wait to get out.  So, she was joking and said, "You guys could come and take over our life.  Roger can work at Autoliv and you guys can live in the four-plex."  She laughed as she said it, but when she said it, something just felt right.  I had the strongest feeling that that was what we needed to do.  Roger felt it also.  We prayed and fasted about it to make sure it was right and we both feel really good about it.  Last week, we went to Ogden and roger applied at S.O.S.  That is where you have to apply to get a job at Autoliv.  You have to start out as a temp, then if they like you, they hire you.  We're really hoping that everything will work out and Roger can get a new job soon.

A Funny Story About My Nephew Benjamin - January 4, 2002

Friday - January 4th
I changed my social security card today.  I also went to the library.  I've been feeling really tired a lot lately, so today I relaxed a lot.  I talked to my mom today and she told me a funny/scary story about Benjamin.  Somehow he got a hold of a candle that was burning on the counter.  Benjamin is in his terrible twos right now.  Shelley was in another room when she smelled something burning.  She ran downstairs to see what it was.  When she got down there, she saw that Ben had started a loaf of bread and a pile of napkins on fire.  She just happened to have a wet wash rag in her hand, so she used that to quickly smother the flames and put out the fire.  I just thought that was kinda funny and really scary.  I'm terrified of the house catching on fire or something horrible like that happened.  I'm glad that Ben was okay and that Shelley was able to put the fire out so quickly.

New Years Eve - December 31, 2001

Monday - December 31st
Happy New Year!  It's actually January 1, 2002.  We just rang in the new year.  We went out to dinner tonight with our friends (Regan, Marque, Lindsay, and Tyson).  After dinner, Roger and I came home and they went downtown to see First Night.  I am sick.  That's why we came home.  I woke up at about 4:00 am this morning with a weird stomach ache.  It hurt really bad.  It was a different kind of pain.  I've never had a stomach ache that felt that way before.  I didn't throw up or have diarrhea or anything.  I just had a really bad stomach ache.  It didn't go away until 7:30 or 8:00am.  I slept until about 10:00am after my stomach stopped hurting.  I ran a few errands (shopping mostly), then came home and rested until we went out to eat.  After dinner I was still feeling sick, so we came home.  It was fun ringing in the new year with my husband.

One Month Anniversary - December 29, 2001

Saturday - December 29th
Roger and I have been married for one month!  I love being married to Roger!  He is the best husband ever!  We are both sick today.  So that is a bummer.  We did not get a good nights sleep last night.  We were just feeling sick and it made it hard to sleep.  We woke up and went to Brigham City for Rachel Wilding's baptism.  We didn't get home until around 3:00 pm.  We stopped at Old Navy on the way home and bought some pants.  They were on sale.  The price tag said they were $6.99, but when they rang them up, they were $2.12.  I was so excited to get some pants for so cheap.  I love discount clothes shopping!
Roger and I stayed home tonight.  I started crying tonight for no reason at all.  It was really weird.  I wasn't sad or anything.  Just all of the sudden my eyes started to well up with tears and I started to cry.  I was so confused because I had no reason to cry.  I thought it was weird so I started to laugh also.  I was crying and laughing a little at the same time.  Roger didn't know what to think.  At first, he felt really bad that I was crying, then he noticed I was laughing and he got really confused.  That was just a really weird experience.  I've never done anything like that before.  It was crazy!  I'm so glad that Roger puts up with me.  I love him so much.  He is the best!  He makes me feel all emotional.

Just a Fun Day - December 27, 2001

Thursday - December 27th
We had a good day today.  We were both really happy and feeling goofy today.  We have so much fun hanging out together.  I'm so happy that I get to hang out and be with my best friend all the time.  We went to the mall to pay Morgan Jewlers for my ring, to look for slippers for roger, and to use our gift certificate to Mier and Frank.  We didn't find any slippers so we went to Walmart.  Roger's mom gave him $20.00 to buy slippers (as a Christmas gift).  Slippers at Walmart only cost $4.00, so we spent the rest of the money on 2 movies (The Breakfast Club and Maverick).  We really didn't do anything special or too exciting today, but it was just a really fun day.  I love my husband!  We have too much fun together and that makes me so happy.

Christmas 2001

Tuesday - December 25th
I had a great Christmas with my new husband.  I love being married.  Here is a link to the video of our first Christmas together.

I miss my family.  This was my first Christmas without them.  But, Roger's family is very nice and I had a good Christmas with them.  I think everyone in my family had a hard time this ear, since this was our first year of not spending Christmas at our house.  When I talked to my mom, she said that everybody felt a little weird about it.

Christmas Eve 2001

Monday - December 24th
Yesterday we spent the morning relaxing and visiting with my parents.  We burned a few CDs for us then we went to church.  After Church, we went to Linda's house to eat Sunday Dinner.  That was a lot of fun.  I love seeing my nieces and nephews.  We left Linda's and went to Costco's.  My parents needed to buy some Christmas presents that they wanted us to deliver to Kristy and Kari.  They also bought a present for Roger and I.  We got back from the store, finished burning our CDs, got a package from the Birds (they asked if we would drop it off in Lehi. Their son would meet us and pick it), and left for home.
The weather was good so the drive home wasn't bad.  We got to Lehi and met the Bird's son at 8:20 pm, then we went to Eagle Mountain and dropped off Kari and Glen's gift.  We finally got home around 9:10 pm.  We had both drank Mountain Dew on the way to help us stay awake, so we both had a really hard time falling asleep last night.
Roger had to work today, but luckily he didn't have to work all day.  He came home around 1:00pm.  He wanted to surprise me, so when he called from work, he told me that he had a big load to deliver so he didn't know when he'd get off work.  So, I thought he wasn't going to get home until much later.
I babysat Canyon and sierra today.  They spent the night.  They slept upstairs with Grandma Moser.  After Roger left to work, I ran on my treadmill.  Sierra came down while I was running, so I quit my workout a little sooner than planned, so I could play with her.  We made music.  I pulled out my guitar and karaoke machine.  I played the guitar and Sierra sang.  She made up a song about how she loves her parents and she loves playing downstairs and singing while I play the guitar.  I had fun playing with the kids and trying to get things done (like the laundry and moving Roger's things from his old room to the basement).  I was supposed to deposit a check for Roger.  I almost forgot about it.  I remembered when Joyce came down and told me that she needed to run to the store.  I told her about the checks and she said she would deposit them for me.  The lines at the bank were really long and she didn't have time to wait, so she had to leave and do her other things, but luckily, she was able to find a bank with shorter lines and get it deposited in time.
I'm really emotional today.  Probably because it is the holidays and this is the first year of not spending it with my parents.  I've cried a lot today, because I miss my family and my old house.  But, I am very happy, I'm having a good day, and I'm excited to spend my first Christmas with my husband.  I love roger so much and he makes me so happy.  He came home from work early and brought me home some flowers.  It was such a nice surprise.  I loved it!
We celebrated Christmas Eve with Roger's mom tonight.  I made Cheese ball.  So, we ate cheese ball and drank sparkling cider while listening to Christmas music.  Then we sat in the living room by the tree while Roger read the story of Jesus' birth to us.  After that, we talked about how much we appreciate our savior and the sacrifices he made.  We sat around talking for a while and it was a lot of fun.  I love my new family!  Roger is great!  Tomorrow we get to spend our first Christmas together.  Our first Christmas Eve together was great!  I loved it and I'm really looking forward to tomorrow.

The Bone Family Christmas Party - December 22, 2001

Saturday - December 22nd
After we woke up, Roger and I went to the lodge to take our showers and get ready for the day.  There's not enough hot water for us all to use the 5th wheel shower.  There were showers in the men's room and lady's room.  We went to our separate rooms to shower, but Roger finished before I did, so he came into the lady's room to see if I was done.  I had just finished and was getting dressed when he came in.  Roger was only in there for a little while.  We figured it was okay because there was no one else in the building.  But somebody else came and as Roger was leaving the lady's room, a woman was walking in.  We both felt really embarrassed about that.
After we showered, we went four-wheeling at Red Cliffs.  Then we went out to eat at a Chinese Buffet that Roger really likes (we go there every time we are in St. George) with my mom and dad, Missy, and my parent's friends (Jack and Joan Bird).  After that, we went back to the 5th wheel and took a nap.
After our naps, we got ready and went to the Bone Family Christmas Party.  It was at 4:00 pm at a church in St. George.  It was fun to see all of my cousins and family that I don't see very often.  When the party was over, we played basketball for about an hour, then we went over to the gull's and visited with them.  We had a really fun day.

A trip to St. George and Kristen's Birthday - December 21, 2001

Friday - December 21st
I took some pictures of the little home that we made for ourselves in Roger's mom's basement.  I think we made it look very nice and homey.  I spent the morning, sewing Christmas pajama bottoms for Kristin, Elizabeth, Missy, and Myself.  I also did the laundry and packed our bags for our trip.  Roger got off work early today so we could head to St. George.  Here is the video tour of our home in the basement.
It snowed for most of the drive, but the roads weren't too bad.  I drove for most of the way, until the roads started to get bad, then Roger took over.  We got to St. George around 7:30 pm.
Kristin is 5 years old today.  It feels like it was not that long ago when she came home from the hospital.  She was born prematurely and they really didn't think that she was going to make it.  She was in the hospital for 3 months after she was born.  When she came home, she still had to be hooked up to oxygen.  I started babysitting Kristin the month that she came home from the hospital.  I loved holding her, she was such a cute baby.  Taking care of her all the time made, me long for the time when I would have a baby of my own.  I loved taking care of her and Elizabeth.  This is the first year that I haven't taken care of them.  I had felt like they were my children.  I was there for so much of their lives.  It was so hard to quit babysitting them.  I cried a lot.  I really miss those kids.  I miss Shelley's kids a lot also.  I spent so much time with them.  It was really hard for me when they all moved to St. George.
I love coming to visit everybody in St.George.  I miss my family so much.  It feels good to be here in St. George.  Kristin's birthday party started at 8:00pm.  Kristin is so cute!  She seems shy.  I don't know if she liked all of that attention.  Actually, I'm sure she liked it, but she is just shy and not sure how to handle it.  She made some cute faces.  You can see those cute faces in this video I took of Kristen's birthday fun.
We, unknowingly, parked in someones parking spot at Linda's.  Whomever it was, came home and, since we were in their spot, they parked behind us and blocked us in.  So, leaving Linda's was a little difficult.  But we managed.  Now we are back at the Folk's house.  Also known as "the 5th wheel" or "the wheels"

Temple Night - December 18, 2001

Tuesday - December 18th
Tuesdays are our temple night.  We usually go with our friends the Kastellers.  Jamie Kasteller is a friend I grew up with.  Her maiden name is Jamie Larsen.  The funny thing about her and I is that we have known each other all our lives.  We were in the nursery at church together.  I mean, we have always known each other.  Although, we knew of each other and saw each other regularly, we never talked to each other.  We were both too shy.  It wasn't until my junior year of high school that we spoke to each other for the first time.  What happened was, we both walked into our gym class on the first day of school .  I looked around and realized that I didn't have any friends in my gym class.  I didn't know anybody in there, except for Jamie.  I noticed her looking around the same way I was.  She realized she didn't have any friends in that class also.  Since, she was somebody that was familiar, I walked over to her and said, "Hi."  We started talking and realized that we had so much in common and instantly became good friends.  We laugh about how we knew each other all our lives, but never talked until we were 17.
Anyway, so, we went to the Bountiful Temple today.  It was very beautiful.  Besides the temple, my day wasn't too exciting.  I went shopping at Walmart with Linda and bought some Christmas stuff.  After that, I came home and made Roger some dinner.  I feel bad that I never cook for him.  I don't cook for him, because we are living at his mom's house and I don't have my own kitchen.  Anyway, I decided to feed him tonight, because I saw this really fun cute idea in the Taste of Home Magazine.  I made him breakfast for dinner.  It was french toast, bacon, scrambled eggs, and hot chocolate.  I arranged the french toast triangles over a slice of bacon, so it looked like a Christmas tree.  Then I used an orange to make a sunshine to the side and slightly above it.  I should have taken a picture, because describing it doesn't do it justice.  I served it on our cute Christmas dishes that Cindi had given us.  It was a very cute meal.  roger was surprised and he said he like it.  We had a good day.

I'm Moody - December 15, 2001

Saturday - December 15th
I am so moody lately and especially moody today.  I feel so frustrated with myself for being so grumpy and fussy about everything and I feel so bad for Roger having to be married to such a fussy, grumpy, crazy person.  I wish I had more control over my emotions.  I was supposed to go job hunting this week.  That was my goal everyday this week.  I ended up only going once.  I applied at Walmart.  One of the days I had a really bad tummy ache all day, so I was afraid to be too far away from a bathroom.  Another day, I got a ton of phone calls.  It was really weird.  It was like every person I knew was thinking about me that day.  I loved to stay home and talk on the phone.  One of the days, I just really didn't want to go, so I didn't.  I know that I need to get a job and it will help us out in a major way.  I just really don't want to.  The plan is, that I will work until I get pregnant, then I can quit.  We both agreed that no matter what our financial situation, I will always stay home with our children.  I have never been good at holding down a job and the thought of going out and getting a new one is really unappealing.
Somehow I need to get out of my bad mood.  We have friends coming over in a little while and I want us to all be able to have fun.  I really don't like being moody.  I'm an emotional eater and I have been eating way to much today, so now I feel fat and ugly, which is really not helping me get out of my bad mood.  Also, when I'm moody, I really get homesick for my family and the house that I grew up in.  Hopefully, I can get my emotions in control soon.

A Regular Day - December 11, 2001

Tuesday - December 11, 2001
Woke up, made Roger's lunch, ate a bowl of cereal
with Roger, said Good-bye, Roger left to work, I went to Kari's house to babysit, loaded
the car with more of my stuff that I had been storing there, came home, unloaded the car,
called Roger, set up my sewing machine, sewed my temple bag,  ran on my treadmill,
Roger stopped by to say, "Hi." for a minute then headed back to work, got in the shower,
did my hair, sewed my shirt so it fit better, Roger came home from work, we ate dinner,
watched a show on TV, played the piano then the guitar while  Roger played Playstation and
Nintendo 64, Karaoked while Roger took a shower, looked at Roger's missionary books, said
our prayers, and now we are going to bed.
I have been thinking a lot about my friends today.  I really miss them.  Rachel and Janae
are on missions, I see Regan and Marque sometimes (but not very often), Jenny Springman
has changed so much and our lives are on very different paths now, making it so we never
see each other.   It is weird how things change.  My friends and I used to try and predict
how our futures would go. Rachel always said she would never serve a mission. We all thought
Jenny Springman would remain strong in the church and be the first one in the group to get
married. We all knew that I would be the last one married,. It turned out that I was the first
one to get married., Rachel is on her mission now, and Jenny is far from where anyone would
have predicted for her. I really hope that she finds her way soon.

New Driver's License and Temple Square - December 8, 2001

Saturday - December 8, 2001
I went to get a a new driver's license today.  I was excited about that, because
I didn't like the picture on my old one.  so now I have a license with a good picture
and one that doesn't say, "under 21" in the corner.  I felt really tired for most of
the day, so I didn't get too much accomplished.  Roger had to work until 3:45 or so.
When Roger got home, we cleaned the basement a little, then we went to Temple Square.
We met our friends, Tyson Waite and Jenny Springman there.
It was really fun to go to Temple Square and see the lights.  My testimony
of the church has grown so much this last month and I appreciate the temple
so much more.

Our Honeymoon - December 4, 2001

Tuesday - December 4, 2001
We are home from our honeymoon.  We had so much fun!  Here are the videos we took of our fun.
